Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I'm interested in reading It's So You by Mary Sheehan Warren. However, it's $265 dollars on Amazon!

Does anyone know where I can get a cheaper copy? My library doesn't have it, either.

You could probably get a copy through interlibrary loan. The author has sold it on her website in the past, but she may be out now.

I would try ILL.... usually you can get most things that way.
It's a great book- fun to read!

I know, Maggie.... I kind of check the availability/price on used book sites every now and again, and it's crazy! I'm guessing it has to do with the law of supply and demand. Not very many people are interested in selling and lots of people would like to buy.

Wondering.... What is it about this book that makes it so popular? Does anyone have it or has anyone here read it? I'm dying to know....

Peace,
Nancy

I had emailed the author about this and she is working on a reprint (which is why the original is so outlandish) .... she's hoping to have it published in the next 6 months or so ....

I will try ILL, thanks Melinda!

If that fails I will wait for the reprint.

Jennifer,
Thanks for posting. I have been so spoiled by Amazon that I have hesitated to buy this book from Scepter because the shipping was $9.23!!!!!!!! I wonder if I call if they have a USPS option?

Is the book worth $24?????

ETA: I called this morning and that is their only shipping option. They recommended trying to get it from a book store to save on shipping.      I understand that a small publisher isn't going to have the shipping deals that Amazon will, but it would be nice to see some more reasonable amounts or different carriers.

I'm now in the middle of working through It's So You! It's fun to flip through, and walks you through figuring out what are the best wardrobe choices for you. She helps you figure out your body type, best colors, clothing personality... I'm finding this very helpful. When it comes to clothing, make-up, things like that, I'm a real dunce. And I'm finally recognizing that what worked when I was in college isn't really very attractive or appropriate on *a woman of a certain age* (that would be *me*) . So, yes, in my case it is very worthwhile!

Seriously, having my attention drawn to colors, make-up, jewelry/accessorizing is a big revelation for me. I'm only about half-way through, and I"m looking forward to making better sense of my clothing, starting with spring/summer. I figure this gives me some time to digest and hunt out good deals. In the meantime, I'm trying to look a bit nicer day by day and my dh has told me 3 days in a row "you look pretty today!" I do like hearing that from him.

Peace,
Nancy

Scepter is running for a short time 20% off the title, so now the book with shipping would be $20. Still not a bargain with shipping...but a bit less.

Thanks for posting that information Jenn. You can also get it from Mary Sheehan website for $20, including shipping and autograph!

I used this book to totally redo my wardrobe and I have been so impressed with how good this book is. Not much of the information is new, per say, but how she presented it all made sense. She took the guess work out of what colors and styles work best for me. But, the best part is her 8 piece wardrobe strategy. I have the most extensive wardrobe that I have ever had with least amount of clothes I have ever owned!

This books is so worth $20!!!!!!!!!

I just led a teen workshop on fashion and style using this book as a spine; it really is worth the $20.

I was never particularly interested in fashion and I usually wear what's cheap and fits from Goodwill, but this book was fascinating for me... which was very surprising.

It's helped me understand why certain things look better on me than others and how to really maximize my wardrobe on a limited budget.

It is FULL of useful information. I give it 5 stars.
