Has anyone ever done a lapbook on the Rosary. All I can come up with is covering each mystery. Also, how do you see photos of lapbooks that Elizabeth mentioned in the lapbook idea thread?

It would be neat to put The Rosary prayers in different languages for your book!  Here's a website that may help with that (languages on the upper right):

The Catholic Encylopedia gives a deep explanation of the history of the Rosary:

This is a neat PDF sheet on saying the Rosary that could be included in any Rosary lapbook:

You could look into the history of the Rosary, and put in something about Saint Dominic:

I've got a few ideas. I had a post all ready and lost it. Hope I can recreat it:
Besides Fatima, how about some other approved apparitions where Mary asks for us to pray the rosary? La Sallette?
Your children are young, but how about making up a list of how many encyclicals have been written about the rosary?
Coloring page of Mary giving the rosary to St. Dominic.
On the theme of the rosary in different languages, some pages El Rosario. Franciscan Monastery in Washington DC has a wonderful walkway filled with mosiacs of the Hail Mary in many different languages. Plus the pictures of the mysteries are in mosaic form. Also the Grotto in Emmitsburg, MD has a rosary walk with the mosaic pictures. That would be a fun art form to make some "mosaic" pictures of paper with rosary themes.
Don't forget to include the "Hail, Holy Queen" and the Latin form "Salve Regina". That would look nice on an illumated page. Plus, have the kids learn the Gregorian Chant form. Don't underestimate their age level -- chant can be learned easily. Here is a site to download some versions to hear. And how about printing the Gregorian chant sheet music version or have them draw the neumes? There's one version that's the most popular, but I can't download right now to figure out which one. I know it's not the nuns version.
Some art with the rosary: learn how to make rosaries, either string version or beaded...even just a decade rosary. Knotted Rosary Instructions .pdf file and Knotted Cross Instructions. I don't have exact directions for a decade...I kind of started making a whole rosary and decided to shorten it to a decade...So I make one decade, make a centerpiece knot and then make a knotted cross at the end. I prefer making the rosary big enough to slip over my wrist, more like a bracelet, but others we made were smaller than that. Take pictures of the creations to put into the notebook. Many people make rosaries for the missions. Write about how to teach the rosary to someone who doesn't know how.
How about finding beautiful classical works of art that illustrate the rosary or Mary and St. Dominic, etc.?
And finally, how about newer versions of art. The Rosary Center has always used Sr. Mary Jean Dorcy's illustrations for their newsletters and mailings. She did the art of scissored paper cuttings. Dan Paulos and Sr. Mary Jean Dorcy have wonderful work. This might be a little too advanced for the detail work, but some simple black silhouettes with rosary themes to put on white paper, or vice versa might be a neat page.
I'm also fond of Ade Bethune and her work. Some other sources Blue Cloud Abbey.

I'm glad you did, Jenn! I'm listening to the Salve Regina from that site right now and enjoying it, and I'm thinking a nice Rosary notebook might be a good project for ds12, while ds5 maybe does more of a lapbook, so all the resources are great!

Has anyone used these? I've looked at them in (Emmanuel?) catalog or somewhere and thought about ordering. The 11x14 size seems so large, though. I know the kids would be able to use them well at that size, but then what about keeping them? I like the idea of making a lapbook for the youngers, and these would be huge for that. The smaller workbook, 8.5x11, might be a better choice. Does anyone know if the drawings take up the whole page or are they small enough to cut out?

Yes, I have the larger paper (I think the workbook is a new product). You are right--it may be too large for a lapbook, depending on what you have in mind, but it is lovely to hang on the wall for display. It also makes a nice addition to the family rosary if you are hoping to keep the younger children involved.

I'm reviving this to see if anyone has any other resources for a Rosary Lapbook???
I really want something more picture oriented verses word oriented for the mysteries. I check out the one from Lapbooks for Catholics and it is too much for my little ones that don't read yet.
Anymore ideas Ladies????

Thank you so much, I love your stuff and am saving up right now to buy your apostles project.
I hadn't thought of these for a lapbook but I think they would work especially if I used some velcro and had the kids stick them to a space that had the name of the mystery.

I think velcro would be a very cool idea. You could place it on the back of the cards, below the self correcting feature (there's colored numbers on the back of each card, The color matches the control card at the top to let the child know if they have their picture in the correct mystery column, and the number allows the child to know if he has it in the correct sequential order.)

Rosary Lapbook for Catholics
You can get a premade one (well, not premade, but all the hard work done) here. We have it and really enjoy it. Another one of my why reinvent the wheel items........
We have the Rosary Reflections workbooks size - love them too. The tablet would be way too big for a lapbook. I let the kids doodle them while we are praying & haven't added them to a lapbook or anything.
And, wow! Lots of great ideas added...
