Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Some of you may already have seen this, but it's worth mentioning here. There is a new group blog focusing on foods and recipes for celebrating the liturgical year in our homes.

Catholic Cuisine

Many members here are contributors on the new blog. I think it is going to be a very nice resource for feast day celebrations. Check it out!

It got me thinking that it would be nice to have a collection of all the blogs that are specifically for cooking for the liturgical year. I know there is Jenn's Family Food for Feast and Feria. There are lots of other cooking and recipe blogs from Catholic bloggers but any others I'm missing that are specifically liturgical year cooking only? We could link them here.

Oh, what a great project! Whose original idea? I missed the announcement. My food blog hasn't had much lately, and it's not all feast day related, but thanks for mentioning mine, Mary.

Grace Before Meals blog Father Leo

I visit a few food blogs that have a mixture of family food and liturgical year ideas.

That would be me Jenn... I don't spend a whole lot of time over here at 4 Real, so I never posted about Catholic Cuisine when I started it.   I had been looking for a blog like it, and when I didn't find one, my hubby convinced me to start it. So far the contributors are a few friends, as well as a few women that I have met through blogging. I am hoping to add a few more as well... Are you interested!? (PM me if you are!)

I think with enough participation, it could be an awesome resource for us mothers!

I'm going to post this request in a couple places and starting here.

Thank you for the enthusiasm you have shown for the new group blog, Catholic Cuisine. Catholic Cuisine will be hosting its first fair next week and your participation would be very welcome and much appreciated!

We thank the Lord for the blessings He has provided to our families and the opportunities those give us to celebrate and feast "from thy bounty" in our domestic churches throught he year. The From thy Bounty Fairs are a place for all of us to share our bounty of celebrations and feasts with each other in the format of a blog fair.

Since Spring (April/May) is a common time for First Holy Communions we are focusing the first fair on the festivities and foods of this sacrament's celebration.

There will be various First Communion related posts at Catholic Cuisine over the next week. Then the Fair will be May 15. Please PM me your submissions of First Communion Foods/Feast/Celebrations by the end of day May 14th (I'm up late, you know ). Even if you don't have a blog I would love your ideas and/or pictures to add to the fair.

Thanks!!

Bumping this old thread to encourage you to visit Catholic Cuisine. MaryM has been posting some fabulous ideas for the feast days.

This is very much worth the "bump", Jenn. I use this site more than Allrecipies.com.       Especially, at this time of year, it helps keep focus on real Catholic traditions.
