Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

A dear friend is throwing me a "mother's blessing" in a few weeks (like a baby shower, but the purpose is more to support and affirm me as a mother) She has put a lot of effort into planning it, and I'd like to get her a special gift to thank her.

She had her first child last May, and I thought a gift certficate for a spa would be a nice gift. BUT, I just talked to her husband, and the GC he gave her last year at her shower (which I threw for her last April) still hasn't been used. :(

Any ideas? She gave me a beautiful silver bracelet to thank me for her shower, but I've given her a couple different pieces of jewelry over the last couple years.

Thanks!

Still on the jewelry theme, but what about a lovely rosary bracelet? Or a rosary? Some beautiful handmade ones from members here:

Beads of Mercy
Gardens of Grace

And this site Dakota Rosary Works

After Lissa mentioned her gift of a rosary bracelet, I keep thinking that it's just fabulous.

Second choice, gift certificate to Amazon. I can ALWAYS use that and it's VERY MUCH appreciated.

Since you did give her a gift certificate at the last shower and it is unused, perhaps you could arrange a time to have her child watched, and the two of you could go together to use her GC. Obviously the GC would be for her!

I received a GC after my first child was born, and I was so excited to use it, but I wanted to actually go with someone, and it was hard to find the time. If you and her DH could arrange something, I think that might be nice.

Just a thougth,
Fuzzy
