Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I do have a book on Catholic etiquette called "American Catholic Etiquette" by Kay Toy Fenner, copyright 1961. Knowing Jenn has an outstanding collection of older books, I'd guess that one's probably in her library too It's a wonderful book, but some of the information is dated. I found another book, Catholic Etiquette: What you need to Know about Catholic Rites and Wrongsthat was published in 1997, but I don't know anything about it.

In another thread these books 'came to light'

I have been wondering whether there are still books out there on these topics. I vaguely recall throwing out a book called "Being a Christian Gentleman" and now I find myself needing books in the area of etiquette and being a gentleman.

Ds11 is not one to take gentlemanish behaviour on my say so. He wants to know 'why!'. Why do we have certain table manners, men behave in certain ways towards women etc. At first I thought he was just being difficult but I came to realise he was genuinely wanting to know the reasons why things are so. I would love to find a book to sit down and read with him.
