I want to share a resource that a friend of mine shared with me. I’ve been looking for something like this FOREVER! It’s going to be a HUGE blessing, so that I can keep better track of what the people we send to Washington are up to, so I can have MY voice heard more. It’s also going to be a HUGE blessing to show my kids what their elected officials who represent them are up to, helping in our current events discussions. It will also be a huge help when Jake is taking Government as a subject next year. :o) More and more, I can see how important it is for us to be ACTIVELY involved in what our elected officials are doing, because they cannot be trusted to speak for us anymore. We need to TELL THEM what we expect on a consistent basis. This resource will help you do just that. :o) This is what she sent me:

The Weekly Standard (a political magazine) sponsors an email notice of how your Senators and Congressmen have voted on recent bills, plus a list of scheduled upcoming votes in both chambers. You sign up with your email and zip code, and each week when Congress is in session you receive a summary email. It will also let you know if a vote is missed by a member.

Although the Weekly Standard is a rather conservative publication, this email service is entirely free of any partisan commentary either way.
