Has anyone heard about this? I found the following link on the Large Family Logistics blog. I never imagined that my children could be harmed by this product!

I read about it a few weeks ago. I thought I followed a link from here but I guess I was wrong. Sorry, I should have thought to post a note about it.
Thanks for getting the word out.
I told all my girls to make sure they use gloves if they use them and not to leave them anywhere the boys could reach them.
What makes me mad is that there is no warning about them and no ingredient list. How is anyone supposed to know they are dangerous? I know many people who have let their kids do the clean up because they thought it was safe.
I feel bad for the family that had to find this out for all of us.
Blessings,
Krisann

Wow! I had no idea! I've had my 5 and up kiddos use these before. Luckily it never occured to me or them to use them anywhere but on the wall or the floor!

Molly,
Thank you so much for posting this. I use my magic erasers quite often, but thankfully, our children haven't had much direct exposure to them.
It was so sad to read how that poor little boy had suffered from the burns on his face.
Blessings,

it's a melamine foam.. there are not chemicals added.. though the foam is a chemical base.. and it's considered safe..
I use it myself without gloves and have no reaction and will allow my children to do so.. as long as I can keep an eye out for misuse such as rubbing it all over their face.
Anyone can react to anything.. it may not be the product per say but that some people will react to it (allergy) though most do not.
I've burned my hands on green chiles a lot faster than that magic sponge did anything to them.

I don't know anything about melamine, so I googled it and came up with this. I guess I would be a wary user, if I used it.
God Bless,

At present I am madly cleaning my house, washing walls, windows etc for the BIG MOVE! Now sugar soap has taken off the grime (I use gloves) but not the crayon marks and black scuff marks. For those we just mix bi-carb soda and water together. Rub onto the wall and then wipe off with water. Totally harmless, very effective and the children love doing it.

To get crayon and scuff marks off you can use a dab of tea tree oil on a rag...marks come right off!
