Forgive me for the whine, ladies, but I am having one of those days.
The baby will not let me put him down for 5 minutes without crying, my 2 littles have been at each other's throats all morning (starting at 7), and my older kids are both out of the house for the day, so I have no mommie's helpers to divert them. Time-out is thoroughly ineffctive today as is keeping them busy or seperated. I am at my wits end and it is only noon. It doesn't look good for nap time, either.
I think I am going to go cry now.
Thanks for letting me vent.

Either a walk outside or a video would be on my agenda for that kind of day. (and I've certainly had my share!)
I hope it gets better for you soon.

Dear Theresa,
It's such a beautiful day today. Why don't you take them all outside? Let them play in the leaves, making piles, jumping until they exhaust themselves out. Then maybe a video would be the ticket.

Get out, Theresa, if you can. I'm with Louise. Let them exhaust themselves outside. Let them get muddy. Really muddy. Then settle them with a soothing bath. Tonight, when all is said and done, do the same for yourself (sans mud ).
Had one of those "days" the other night...and my kids are too old for this sort of bickering!

We've also had the bickering for almost a week. The rain here has been coming down in buckets & we cannot get outside to play. (OK, I don't wanna play in the rain!)
I really hope the rest of your day goes better, Theresa.
Maybe some fun in the fresh air will change their focus to burning up some energy.

Well, it looks like I will get a brief reprieve as they are all down for a nap. At least for now. I lit a candle and said a rosary that my afternoon would go better, and it is already working!
Now I will relax a bit, and gather my energy for an afternoon in the creek getting muddy!
Thanks ladies.
I needed that!

Ah! I have been there this week too! I second the motion for a good dose of dirt followed by a good dose of bubbly water. I don't know why that combination works so well, but most especially my boys need a good helping of dirt every day...it fixes a whole buch of woes!
...makes me wish I had 2 washing machines!
Hugs to you!

Just now saw this, Theresa ... glad the day got better!
The blog pictures are wonderful! At first glance, it looked like the dog was eating Baby's hand ....

Ladies, have any of you noticed more difficult days with changes of weather and/or full moon? Try chamomile tea and lots lavender in the bath water when days are just wild and crazy! Helps more than you'd think! I third the outdoor play and getting filthy dirty as one of the best outlets for excess energy or moodiness.
Hope the rest of this month is much smoother for all of you Theresa!

Ummm, would the tea & lavender bath be for me, my children, or both?
Seriously though, I seem to suffer from S.A.D.
My moods honestly are affected by this SEVEN MONTHS of grey skies & rain. I haven't been down like this in years.....and the kids are stir crazy.
Theresa! I loved the pictures. It looks like you all had a wonderful day.

Theresa,
just saw this and clicked to see the pictures. What beautiful children! And what a beautiful place to play! This is your home? Looks like a grand place to be!
My own 2yo ds was on a mission of his own, yesterday. Spilled juice on the carpet, twice, chocolate milk on the table, juice in the kitchen, and dumped a new shampoo bottle in the shower. I am have now designated "John watchers" when I am in the bathroom! He is a dickens!
I will have to remember the rosary, candle, and hitting the out-of-doors!
God Bless,
Stacy in MI

Thanks everyone.
Michaela, though I have not been diagnosed (never bothered to)I am also sure I have some form of SAD. When it is cloudy I get really down. Even overnight this can happen sometimes. I can go outside and when the sun hits my skin within minutes I can actually physically FEEL my mood lifting. My husband thinks we should get some full-spectrum bulbs and even look into some therapy lamps as well.
