GO IF YOU CAN!!!!!!!!!
Do whatever you have to, to make it happen.
We saw him yesterday and he is wonderful! I was so excited to finally meet the man who fills my bookcases with wonderful books. He was so nice to the children, he really engaged them in conversation.
Get there early, because he was early to the afternoon booksigning yesterday. So were we, which was nice because our time with him was not as rushed as it might have been. It did get crowded.
He is just so sweet. One grandmother came in with her Strega Nona doll and he signed the dolls' cape.
Can you tell I enjoyed the afternoon. Of course it was made even more special because of the company. Thank you Jenn for letting me know about his visit. Rachel I am so glad you made the drive out. Tomie took a picture with all of us.
If you do meet up with Reallearning friends get a group picture and we can make a collage of us all.

Dear Theresa, >
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!!! We are going! We own at least 28 Tomie books! And I might find more today as we get them together.
Are you planning to go? We're going to the Raleigh bookstore. Are you closer to Durham? Is anyone else going?
Doing the happy dance,
Louise

Yes, I heard about this earlier this week and e-mailed lots of folks to let them know. I wish I could go! :-( Mary has a very important dance class from 6-7pm here in Benson and dh is on the nightshift.
Louise, I wish I could go and meet you!
Please relay our affection to him!
JoAnna, not far from Raleigh but a world away in some regards...

JoAnna, Could you make it to the Durham one at 4?
Louise, I am so glad you will be able to go!
I cannot go. I live in NC, but way at the far western tip of the state. It would be about a 5 hour drive one way for us, so, not in the cards.

It was so so great! I would have enjoyed it no matter what, but having Jenn and Mary Chris there made it easier for me to enjoy my excitement. All of us (even Bill) had a great time, and brilliant Jenn remembered the camera so now we have pictures to cherish.
When the twins introduced themselves, Tomie said, "Did you know my middle name is Anthony? You could tell everyone at school that you are named after me!" They told him they were homeschooled, and without missing a beat he said, "Then you could tell everyone at home you were named after me!"
When I saw that he was going to the Regulator, I was wishing we could be there too. I used to buy books for college there.
