Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hi everyone

I would appreciate some advice about where to get clothes - I am still wearing clothes that are 10 or more years old - and refuse to wear juniors. (I can sometimes do yoga pants etc from Target girls - but would like to branch past this!!) - I can do Eddie Bauer petite dresses (on offer at season end) which are a size 2 - but their skirts and pants are too big. I like LLBean and Lands end but they only start at 4P.I am ok for church generally as I have my former work suits and dresses (from 10 years ago!) - it is the everyday stuff and smart casual. I am feeling very "dowdy" and need to smarten up a bit. I am just not a shopper and am not an easy set size to order online.

Thanks

Marilyn

PS If I am blessed with any more children - I will reopen this for small maternity clothes!!

Why do you refuse to wear juniors? If you look hard, they have some more classic styles available in with the junk. That's really your best bet for affordable small clothing. Failing that, if you want to spend big bucks, high end European clothing runs very small. You can find some of this on discount at places like Loehmann's. Also, Nordstrom's petite section has some great choices.

Another option is Lands End Kids and Hanna Anderson kids. Classic styling, and the sizes go up to 14 and 16 kids, so a petite woman could wear them.

As for maternity, Old Navy worked for me, and I was rail thin when I got pregnant (a size 2). But I'm also 5'7". They might have short lengths available online, though.

I wear alot of 14-16 kids and junior sizes all the time as well. Women's clothes have never fit me properly, I'm always tailoring it to fit if I shop in the Ladies section.
Crazily enough KMart Girls has really cute dresses that fit me like a dream, now if only the rest of the island would stop shopping there too! Maybe I need to invest in some RIT dye?

Thanks for the tips. I guess I always thought Juniors was low cut jeans, or "too trendy" stuff - maybe I need to go shopping more!! The Lands End girls department is an idea. I just do not want to look like "mutton dressed up as lamb" (British expression!!!) and dress much younger than I am.
