Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I don't understand the "fairs" and "carnivals" that are associated with blogs.

Can someone give a quick, simple explanation?

Hi Laura ~ I'm generally not known for my "quick" and "simple" explanations, but I will give it a shot!

As far as I know a fair is the same as a carnival. Whoever hosts the carnival collects links to other blogs' posts that pertain to a certain subject and then posts them all in one big post at *their* blog so that someone stopping by can click through all the links and "visit" all those blogs.

For instance, my Field Day is a nature study carnival. People very kindly send me a link to a post on their blog about nature. (One they've posted in the past, or one they will post the day of the carnival.) I then write up a post and "connect" them all together through short(ish) introductions.

Then when you visit my blog on "Field Day" you can visit lots of nature posts at lots of different blogs just by reading my post and clicking on the links I provide.

Sorry I rambled, but I hope that gives you a better idea how fairs and carnivals work. Let me know if you need any other information.
