Next up in the Lives of Loveliness Fair will be The Loveliness of Autumn on Monday October 2nd.
This can be whatever you want it to be along the lines of how you celebrate and showcase the loveliness of Autumn in your home. You can show a room, the whole house, outside the house, recipies, decorating and crafts ideas - whatever.
Since the submissions in this fair can be quite broad (meaning a lot of you might join in) and since you have 2 weeks until the fair itself, please send your submission to me no later than Saturday September 30th so than I can organize and post them all by Monday October 2nd.
If you have any questions let me know.
I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone has to contribute - this is a my favorite season!!

Michele,
I have a newbie question about submissions. My understanding is that I should send the moderator/organizer (you in this case :-) a url to the permalink of the appropriate post. In order to have a permalink, do I have to have "published" the post already or is there a way to send a permalink for a draft which is then published in time for the carnival? Otherwise the post is up for a long time before hand. How is this done?

I am not sure how it is done on blogspot, but what I do is go ahead and publish it just long enough to grab the URL. Then I go back and edit it to save it as a draft, essentially "unpublishing" it until just before a carnival.
Then I can send the URL to whoever is having the carnival.
Hope that helps!

Does it necessarily have to be in your house? Couldn't the loveliness of autumn be celebrated as a family with an annual trek to the mountains or a day of apple picking or a commitment to camp every weekend?
I think, looking forward, that some of these loveliness fairs might have nothing at all to do with houses or decorating. The loveliness of babies is up next and the loveliness of prayer soon after that.
I guess I just want to be careful that we not get oo caught up in the houses because the first fairs were so oriented that way. When we make homes for our families and impart a vision of wholehearted childhood to our children, all of life can be a blank slate for loveliness.

Absolutely, that's why I included "outside the house". Like I said - it can be anything. The examples I gave were just that, examples. Go crazy!
God bless,

Should we consider bumping the fair a week to give people more time, as we did with learning spaces?
Michele, I was hoping to post something new this weekend but I don't think I have time. I think I would like to go with the post I sent you the other day.

Okay, ,we can bump if that's what you want. Let me get people out the door to csoccer and I'll post on the blog. Michele, before I do that, would a week from MOnday be good for you?

Yes that's fine with me. I was hoping to get some pictures up myself and the weather today does not look like it's going to cooperate.
God bless,

That would be great here. I was really feeling a time crunch since our family fall outing is today. I was wondering how I'd get home from the outing and post without losing sight of the loveliness of it all

I'm glad we bumped. My husband ate what I was going to enter before I could get Dd to take a photo.
Rethinking here...

Well...I just had a thought. I'd like to post something but don't have a blog. If I borrow a camera and upload the pic, than can I send that to you with the text? By email?

I've seen some of these too and don't have a blog.. does it have to be a blog or just up online?
And do the pictures have to be current or could they be from last year or such?

Yes a link to something online that's not specifically a blog would be fine and the pictures don't have to be current, the point it showing the loveliness of Autumn from your perspective.
God bless!
