The next Elegant Simplicity fair will focus on the bedroom. (Visit Elizabeth's blog for more information about these carnivals) Please send me your links this week. I'll be trying to get the fair up by Monday the 11th. My email is kimallenf@elpasotel.net
You don't need a blog either. Just send me your ideas and pictures if you have them and I can upload those for you.
Also - if you have participated in a Loveliness Fair and have not gotten an icon to display on your blogsite give Elizabeth or I a holler. I need to upload mine as well but wanted to be sure you all knew they are available.
Thanks!
Kim

I can't wait for elegant simplicity in my bedroom.......
My room will be in two tones of lavender.......what color is your bedroom painted?

I tried to paint my room orange. What a disaster. I tried so many different colors and none was what I wanted. I even color-matched and STILL it wasn't right! (Amusingly, Elizabeth's nursery looks pretty darn close to what I wanted in the picture on her blog!)
Anyway, I gave up and it's now painted Swiss Coffee, which is a dark cream/beige color. Boring but serene. All our furniture is dark espresso stained, so the light walls really help keep things airier looking. Our bedding is all white matelasse, and we have accents of chocolate, tan, teal and soft terra cotta around the room. It is really beautiful. I actually enjoy coming into my bedroom now. And it's getting cleaner and more organized by the second (well, not right THIS second, since I'm here, but you know what I mean -- back to work!).
I'm doing the master bedroom for the carnival only because my son's room is always a mess, the future nursery is crammed with stuff waiting for a major declutter, and the office/guest room could be classified as a federal disaster area courtesy of my husband's RC airplane obsession (it's for work, but still ...). The only room anywhere close to Simple Elegance is the master bedroom. Maybe someday soon we'll have four elegantly simple bedrooms ... until then, I'll be thankful for the one.
ETA I'm married to a Marty, too!

So, can this be pics/info from the main bedroom and from the kids' rooms?

I'm trying to remember - do we post the logo when we host a fair or can we post it if we've submitted to a fair?
And do we paste the image on the sidebar of our blogs? I have never been able to figure out how to do that on Typepad. What kind of Typelist do I use?

I don't have a nursery; that's my bedroom. And it's painted Ralph Lauren Chamois. Kirsten, you are close enough to come check it out in person if you want.

These are good opportunities to clean my house up. Kinda of afraid to tackle all the accumulated stuff in my bedroom though!

Oh I assumed it was for our sidebars. Did I get that wrong?

Michele, I think I am just muddling things up! I see everyone is posting the logo at their sites (and I am working on getting mine up now). Sorry about the confusion!

Any bedroom works for the fair as far as I know. I would LOVE to see the chocolate and the matelasse fwiw!
And yes the logo can be uploaded to the sidebar. I did a help search on Typelist to get the directions. They also suggested widgets. I have to upload my own and then I can tell you more. You can keep it up indefinitely once you submit to any Loveliness Fair!

Just a reminder that I need the bedroom fair links by the end of the weekend to post on Monday. Don't be intimidated either! We aren't requiring Better Homes and Gardens. <g>

Kim's fighting with her computer and typepad. It will be there but it might be later than earlier to day. And it might be tomorrow...
She's pregnant and tired and was online at 6, my time, which is 4 her time. I sent her back to bed. We'll regroup later and see if we can't get Typepad to cooperate for her.
In the meantime, those of you who thought you didn't have time to participate...
Now you do!

I'm still not going to be able to get a submission in. I tried but the weekend was busier than I thought and I'm too tired lately. Right now I have to go drink that nasty sweet stuff and get my blood sugar levels tested. . .yuck. Plus I have to finish preparing for a talk I'm giving tomorrow at our new parish Mother's group.
In any case I don't know how much I'll be participating in any more of the fairs as my house is about to be torn apart. We found high lead levels in certain areas of the house (it is 100 years old so that's not a huge surprise) and 25 windows are being replaced and some walls are being re-plastered and lots of painting is being done. We aren't doing all of it, a contractor is doing some and my dh is doing some (OK he's a contractor but that's not what I meant) so my house will be in disarray until it's done. I am hoping and praying it will be done before the baby gets here. It really needs to be done now though because it is a danger. And don't worry, I won't be participating in any of it - I know it's not safe. Other than picking out colors and options of course.
Oh but I will still be hosting the lovliness of Autumn so be thinking about your posts for that!
Saying a prayer for Kim - I can certainly sympathize as we are only a few weeks apart in dates.
God bless,

Prayers for Kim and Michele!
If we did already post our entry, should we hide it for the time being and save it as a draft?

Wow, Michele! That's quite a lot going on. And Kim, please take it easy.
I won't be participating in this week's fair. I just couldn't get to the bedrooms. Enough stress already, can't add more.
Was the icon for Participants to be used in the Kitchen Fair, too? I never received one...but then, I've only participated in one fair.

Take it easy Kim. None of us care and we all understand.
I couldn't get the learning spaces done in time. I had tons of pictures and ideas ready and it just didn't happen. I posted one later.
Michelle, perhaps you can isolate one aspect here and there. We'd all love to see paint colors or just a "simple" object.
In my opinion, the blog posts don't have to feature a whole room. Who ever has a whole clean at one time, anyway? Its neat to isolate "simple" aspects, too.
For example, when we get to the living room, a favorite chair, a neat basket that holds books, a picture on the wall, or even just a mantle above the fireplace can be featured. Ladies, again its just my opinion, but don't kill yourselves off trying to get the whole room magazine perfect. None of us are like that anyway. We are REAL people with clutter, messes, etc. We have to keep this fun, or its going to just be viewd as a burden.

Ladies thank you all for your patience and understanding. Its been a bizarre day between typepad glitches and real life issues. In the middle of it all my mom fell off a ladder and broke her shoulder.Calls going back and forth determining the extent of the injury. Then a lady who bought a goat from us last mo was having problems and has called three times so far today wanting help.
I need to run out right now to the bkmobile and to the goat lady and hopefully between Lissa and I we can figure it out afterwards. Lissa actually had it all fixed and then Typepad reset or went down temporarily and the whole thing has to be done again. Argh. Big round of applause for Lissa's tenacity!!!!
So anyway, thank you for bearing with us. This would be the 'real' part of 4Real!
Kim
