Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

OK………..I know some of you think I’m crazy, but…………

For ME, it’s time to think about CHRISTMAS!!!!!

I am wondering if any of you might have some ideas for TEEN BOYS and a TWEEN girl (who still is a little girl sometimes ;o)), about inexpensive, but nice or cool gifts and/or stocking stuffers that I might have not considered for Christmas. It’s SO HARD at these ages to spend in a thrifty manner on gifts, particularly when we’ve spoiled them a bit (understatement) in the past!

Also, ANY IDEAS for inexpensive, thrifty, but nice ideas for grandmas (our moms), or inexpensive, but nice gifts in general would be most appreciated too.

For my sisters in law this year (and a few friends), I’m going to make hot chocolate mix with peppermint candy canes in them (peppermint hot cocoa).

Thanks for any help you can give me! :o)

Love,
Tracy

Hi Tracy!

I was wondering if your daughter could make grandma or mom their own aprons?

That's the only thing that I can think of right now...

Hope it helps!

Don't tell my mom, but while looking up yodeling cd's at Amazon (dear son likes to try to yodel a la Ms. Frizzle in the sound MSB video), I found some polka cd's, so my mom will be getting some Polish polka cd's for Christmas.

Let's hear some more ideas, please!

I think music CDs make lovely gifts and can often be found for under $3 (and often less) at

www.cbd.com

There's a wide selection of Christmas music. Last year my mom and sisters received from me a CD with that beautiful song, "Mary Did You Know?"

Tracy,

I can't help for a teen boy b/c believe me my nephews get the most expensive gifts each Christmas. Wow! I can't believe the cost of things for teens these days!!

Here is the following what my tween nieces have gotten in their stockings:

Sunglasses
Chapstick
Gloves/Mittens
Scarf
Nailpolish(fun colors for their toes)
Cute socks for different holidays, etc.
Hair stuff
Earrings
Bubble bath
Prayer books
Religious medals
Holy cards
Mini photo albums
Stickers
Art supplies
Coupon books~especially the nieces with many brothers they love the books which are mostly "girl things" to do with their Moms

Hope this helps.

My sister/sil have made candles or painted candles for gifts in the past. My mil gives all the daughters-in-law a little gift each Christmas. We have gotten magnets, frames, pins...very small but nice to be remembered each year.

PS It is never to early to shop and/or plan for Christmas!!!!! I enjoy getting out every Dec. 26th to stock up for the next year. It is truly a very fun day with my sister...I know now to get her coffee before we shop and we are good to go all morning long!!!

Hi Tracy!

I plan to give a number of gifts this year that I've made myself. I stamp, and have learned to stamp candles, and beautiful note cards that I give either in a tin box that I've decorated, or just in a stack, with envelopes, tied with a beautiful ribbon.

I've also made small(8x8)scrapbooks for my husband's parents w/ pictures of the kids. Or calendars where the picture of the kids changes monthly.

I'm learning to stamp a lot of other cool things, so I'm really looking forward to getting started on my gift making this year!

HTH!!
