I met MacBeth and her kids!!!
Oh my goodness, what fun! The boys and I had gone into town to meet dh for lunch and MacBeth was bringing her crew in for some sightseeing ... so we met up by the aquarium! We all had hot dogs together and the kids climbed on statues, played in fountains and we walked and talked and talked and walked (and I think I talked your ear off, MacBeth! )! You all can be sure there will be pictures up at my blog very soon!
MacBeth, it was such a wonderful pleasure to meet you and your children in person! I can't wait till you're back in town again!
I have to tell you all something cute - we had planned to take nature photos while in the city and on our drive in, realized we forgot our Urban Wildlife field guide at home. My 7yo pipes up "That's OK - we'll have MacBeth! She'll be our field guide!"
Oh, and one more thing, MacBeth (see I'm still talking your ear off!) you know how my Jack got to ask you his question about turkey vultures? Well, on the way home, Liam told me he had something he had wanted to tell you too - he wants to be a vet when he grows up.
What a fun day!

This whole board has brought me so many blessings over this past year. Meeting MacBeth and her family - and feeling immediately like fast friends just catching up -was a *wonderful* thing!
ETA - the pics are up!

Libby must have rested on the plane. We met her as well as she came through Denver and had so much fun, plus we got a free live violin concert. I agree, it is a blessing to meet online friends.

That is so nice, Dawn! Enjoyed the pictures on your blog.
I had my own 4Real little meeting last night. Rachel May and Mary Chris came to my little Pampered Chef party. They really are wonderful ladies, and I felt so privileged to have them in my home. My house isn't right around the corner. And poor Mary Chris had a flat tire on the way!
It's so nice when they become "for real" friends instead of just "4Real" Friends.
I had planned on taking pictures, but got so caught up in visiting that I plum forgot until just now!

Uh oh-- Mary don't throw any packing boxes at me ok? BTW, Mary is now within walking distance of a branch of the greatest library in the (Denver) country for 3 years in a row (only #3 this year)!!

LOL, one of the very first things we talked about was how many 4-Realers we had each met "in real life." MacBeth, of course, has met many of you, but she was my first!

You and I really are kindred spirits, Jenn.
The only day of our week long trip to Georgia that I didn't take any photos was the day of the conference when I could have gotten photos of Leslie and Michelle G. and Suz and Quiz and Karen and so many others!!!
I got too caught up in the visiting too and plum forgot. But, at least, we have pleasant memories.

Hey All! Meeting Dawn was fun! I love to meet folks from this forum, and once again I was not disappointed! Her boys and dh were great, too!
As Gwen pointed out, she and her family, as well as Mary M, helped to deliver and retrieve Libby from her summer music school out in Colorado. I do not imagine that I can ever repay them for their kindness and hospitality.
But it seems so typical of all the fine people from this forum who have opened their homes to me (and often my family), and shared their lives, on the forum, on their blogs, ad even in real life. Meeting the good folks who hang out here is always a pleasure. While we were on our big adventure a few weeks ago, we met Linda Nelson of Sacred Heart Books and Gifts totally unplanned. And BTW, I think she carries every book ever recommended by Elizabeth in the amazing Sacred Heart Books catalogue.
