Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Just about to go the the coffee thread and give a herbal suggestion - and when I look up anything I go to a wonderful book written by a lady who lives in the same home state where I am - Queensland. I am a herbal enthusiast and I have never seen a book that equals this - it is so practical and easy to use and a gold mine of knowledge. If there was one herbal book to have this is it.

When I first joined the forum, I was reading lots of different blogs, one was Christine's and on there at the time she had a plant that she was trying to identify - it was in fact "Herb Robert" as some had pointed out. It is a fairly unknown herb but Isabel Shippard (the author) said, "a supreme, therapeutic herb", "one of the most outstanding herbs that we can use regularly, as an enhancer of the immune system" She recommends this herb so much there is 4 A4 pages dedicated to it, at the end she finishes with this, "It is believed that the herb was probably named after the 11th Century French saint Robert, Abbot of Molerne, whose medical skills were legendary. Let's use this herb for our health and healing. Herb Robert could be called a true saint, for the way it has helped and blessed so many people."

It is a big book (A4) and thick, so I thought I would put some links in for anyone looking for such a book as this, How Can I Use Herbs in My Daily Life? and here is the link on the same website to prices the wonderful thing for people in the US the book is much cheaper than what we pay! She has also put a great book on growing and eating sprout for good health.

If you are into herbs, I assure you, you will pick it up to gleam something from it for practical use every day!

Thanks Anne... I'd add it to my book collection... only I am not sure if they'd send it over here

Yes they definately do - when you click on the 'prices' link and then scroll right down they have book prices for all parts of the world and they talk about international shipping.

I still have the 4 page article about Herb Robert that I sent to Christine months ago, I sent it via email, if anyone wanted to have some idea of what this book is like, I am quite happy to send the information on "Herb Robert" over, I am sure you would be quite impressed! (and all start looking for Herb Robert in your back yard! )
