Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Milk of course! I thought I'd open a new thread since I asked this question in the Yogurt Maker thread:

I had to stop eating dairy for the sinuses to drain. This site says you can make yogurt with soy milk! If so , that's really good news for me...I'm off to research this possiblity. Has anyone with dairy allergies tried it? What about goat's milk? I hear there's an organic source near me. Does it cause as much of a problem with mucus thickening as cow's milk?

Does anyone know about whether the goat's milk causes the same phlem problems as cow's?

Hi Gwen! I was in the same boat. Was off dairy for over a dozen years due to recurrent sinus troubles and ear infections (even as an adult). I raise goats now and have been on the raw milk for over a year now. No trouble at all - even during cold season. It apparently does not cause mucus problems like cow's milk does.

I wish you were closer. I would share <g>

Kim

What Kim has mentioned is usually the case with the vast majority who change. We drink raw cow's and raw goat's at our place. We would drink exclusively raw goat's but it is far more expensive, so we supplement with raw cow's as well. To compare the two cups of milk side by side, the different is quite noticable - cow's milk is SO much thicker and creamier. Goat's milk is nothing like that. When I separate the cream of either for different reasons, the difference is extremely noticable, lots of thick, thick cream of the cow's milk. I think because we use the two continuously, we are very much aware of the differences.

Dairy allergies run on my mother's side and I had two cousins from birth who could not drink cow's milk formula, a goat was bought (they had acerage) and they gave the children raw goats milk and it was absolutely fine.

My personal opinion is goats milk is head and shoulders over cows for nutrition as well the phlem issue.
