Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hey Ladies,
We are nearing the home stretch of our home addition. I have a couple of closets (ok 3 big ones and a small pantry) to get closet shelving and racks and stuff for...
I just figured we would do it ourselves via Closet Maid, my mother seems to think that their products don't hold up. She thinks we should go to California Closets and at least get the free consultation, but my word, the $$$
So my questions are:
Is Closet Maid stuff not going to hold up to my wild monkeys, and we would just be throwing our money away?
Are there other more affordable closet system companies out there that are a bit more affordable than Cali. Closets but are still good quality? I saw elfa (sp?)...

I don't really want to spend a fortune, but I only want to do this once. Thanks in advance!

God Bless,
Alison

Alison,
Our closetmaids did not do very well with our monkeys . We did the bargain version of California Closets from Target.
We have a small house and this seemed like a reasonable way for each of our four boys to have their own space in the walk in closet without breaking the bank. We have had them since November, if memory serves, and they are holding up nicely. My husband installed them a bit higher off the ground to allow space for the heating vent on the back wall. That also allowed me to place a small square laundry basket under each unit.

Have fun planning your addition!

Blessings,

If Closet Maid is those wire thingies they don't work nor do they last. Elfa, too. Yuck. Struggling with an elfa drawer in my pantry and I'm about to lose it

Dh and I were thinking of the Target system...which is CA Closets on the cheap, right? Of course, nothing is cheap.

That's my biggest problem...thinking of the House Image. I need things to organize, store and hide and it all costs $$$.

Yes, Jenn, that's exactly the problem! Who wants to spend money on something that is going to fall apart in less than 5yrs    OTOH...can we afford Cali Closets    Or I could ask dh to build us a custom closet, and it would be done in 6yrs
I think I will do the free consult from Cali Closets and see what we can do with their plan and a less expensive system...
I am trying to figure out the Ikea thing. I like their stuff and their $$ are more reasonable...
I just read the reviews of the Target Cali Closet stuff and they were very poor. Most folks who had them for any length of time complained that they were NOT holding up
   Beware ladies...

Alison
