Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I have been reading a very old book about Saint Theresa of the Child Jesus. What a wonderful book and what a wonderful soul.
My question is, (no I am not all the way through the book yet) how does one, a mother and homeschooling, live a life worthy of such things.
Part of me just wants to throw myself at the feet of Our Lord and stay there forever, but realistically, I have daily life to do.
Thoughts?

I think that's why the Little Flower's life has always appealed to me...because the Little Way is open to everyone. We can show our love for Jesus by doing the little things (and the difficult things, too) with love. We don't have to live in a cloister to do this.

I heard a great homily two weeks ago...all about how life in Jesus is a life without fear. I think St. Therese figured this out at a very young age. She learned to trust Our Lord completely at all times, and her Little Way sprang from this trust in His promises.

Isn't it wonderful to be able to read about the Little Flower and all the other saints?! What friends and guides they are!

Oh my gosh it is BEAUTIFUL. I am so happy to have been gifted this book. There are several others, and now that I started reading them. I am sure I will be on a roll.

Yes, I can do things with love.
I said something to a friend of mine very recently about striving to do better. She thought I was putting myself down. But really I was aiming high. I want THAT love. That love from Our Lord. That love from Jesus, and that love from Mary too!

I think that homeschooling moms have abundant opportunities every day to follow Therese's Little Way. We are asked to juggle so many things, field so many interruptions, and practice our patience almost 24/7.

These are all the little things that we can place at the feet or Our Lord. I agree with Nancy that it is such a blessing to have all the saints as our helpers... I need them!

It is funny that you posted today about St. Therese. I am reading a book called Shower of Heavenly Roses by Elizabeth Ficocelli that is a joy to read... a collection of stories about those who have been helped by the Little Flower.

Nancy- that sounds like a terrific homily, and timely for me as well. This week I came across this excellent short video from OneTimeBlind on You Tube: Fall Trust. It was very thought provoking: how much do I really trust Jesus? Am I living afraid?
