Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I am afraid to talk about it anywhere on line in case someone has not seen it yet

At the same time, I would like to go on the record as saying that Jedi mind tricks do not work on moms in general, at least at my house. And I have to wonder if mothers of Jedi everywhere, as they sit on their living room couches with lightsabers flying through the air over their heads, every wistfully think, "Geez- I wish he would put that thing away already".

Anyway- saw the movie; thought it was great. It left me with lots of questions... for example, If I were wandering in the desert wearing a storm trooper's black outfit, would I also feel like putting on someone else's leather jacket? And where can I buy some of that self-baking bread? And if I go to see the next Star Wars movie, will I have to sit through 20 minutes of terrible trailers? Bat Man vs. Superman... really? Is that even possible, and who cares, anyway?

I liked it too. It was nice to have characters with real emotions and a sense of humor! And lots of loose ends to ponder until the next episode comes out. Music was good too. I love Star Wars music!

Here's a thought. A friend of mine was talking about how scary ep's IV, V, & VI were for kids in the 70s/80s. There were a lot of us who were ages 3-10 watching those films. Were they too violent? If I had to do it again, I'd still have watched them, even though I had a lot of dreams with Darth Vadar in them. I must have been pretty young watching Indiana Jones movies too.

LOL- my mother would not let us watch them, so I had to wait until I was in high school to see even the first one!

I saw the first ones at age 13 & up, so I don't know how scary they were for younger viewers. Also, the versions available now on DVD are "enhanced" - many background figures, etc., were added/changed by George Lucas, so the films we saw in movie theaters were different from the films we can now watch at home. (Unless you're me...I have a VHS player and our original VHS tapes...but I'm a closet Luddite...)

I also saw the originals (in theaters) starting at age 13. Never thought they were scary at that age. Our kids all watched them between 8 and 10, or so. Don't recall anyone being scared. They seem to me so tame now compared to what is out there.

I enjoyed the new movie, as it was nostalgic - but that was also a downfall...almost like watching the same movie again.

I saw the original at 7 and I'm happy to say I can remember the fact (not much else) but it never bothered me or my sister and sis was prone to nightmares.. and she was 2 yrs younger.
