My ds has been bitten by the Star Wars bug.
At the library we found a Star Wars origami book that has all kinds of cool stuff in it besides the cool paper (which we obviously can't tear out).
Ds and dd have been pouring over this book for the past few days.
Besides video games and legos, what other Star War items have gone over well at your house? I have birthdays coming up and Christmas to think of...

COSTUMES!!!! light sabers and capes (did you know a jedi cape makes a great monk robe?  ) and blasters (even if they don't actually shoot anything).. and while Leia's costumes aren't inspiring.. my girls loved things that Queen Amadala *might wear* (we didn't make actual replicas of costumes just used what we had to get the feel of them)

There are some Star Wars books out there for middle school and teen readers...the Young Jedi series would probably appeal to him. You can probably find at least a few volumes at your library.
The John Williams-composed soundtracks are great fun to listen to in the car. Guess how I know?

My kids enjoyed that, too. Yoda soda, anyone? There is also a second cookbook.
Star Wars Legos are a hit around here. Let's see - we also own Star Wars Trivial Pursuit, Star Wars Customizable Card Game, not to mention the micromachines, and regular action figures...oh, my yes we go back a long time as a Star Wars family.
And I love the various peg dolls sets - keep saying I am going to paint some though my fans are all too old now...

We have the origami bug here, too. That Star Wars origami book is great. There are some sites that have other origami Star Wars instructions.
However, I do not recommend the series "Origami Yoda." I would pre-read them if your are considering them.
My son loves Star Wars but he isn't allowed to watch the movies yet. He knows all the story lines because of Legos. The Character Encyclopedia and Visual Dictionary are fun to read.

Thanks for all these ideas!
I am also a Star Wars fan from way back- though I liked the original three best. The very first movie especially seems so tame compared to later ones and what is out there now in the theatres in general.
My ds is not a movie fan, but a few weeks ago he was determined to watch the original movie all the way through, and he made it to the end. It's the only one he has seen so far, but added to what he knows about Star Wars from legos and from friends, it has really sparked his imagination.
 Yoda soda... he will love it!

Cookbook... spiral bound or hardbound? Amazon has both.
Also- the R2D2 measuring cup set... oh, my- would that not be great to go along with the cookbook?
