Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hello friends! I miss you and stopping in on Wednesdays just to say hey, stay in touch, and share helpful stuff I'm reading on line! So here I am

Our big news (which I don't think I've mentioned publicly here, don't correct me if I'm wrong, lol) is that...I'm a grandma expecting!!! My daughter, Devin, is due in April. She'll be just over a year from graduating from college, 11 months married, 10 months residing in Washington State, and a month shy of being 22. Yes, we are beyond excited and proud. Please do send up a prayer for this sweet, young family.

I'm super happy and hope you all are too. If you are, I would love to hear about it. If you aren't, know I'm praying for you and if you want to brainstorm some ways to help, let us know here.

Devin and I are back to blogging, with a goal of 3 posts a week for 6 months. Nothing like a friendly competition to keep us motivated! Please check her new blog out and give her a comment to let her know you're rooting for her: adventuring out

Here's a post from me you might find helpful When work makes us cry which includes tips on how to get mundane stuff done.

Why kids need cognitive control is a reblog with an update on research into delayed gratification.

And here's the content I've curated this past week :

Quote:
At Gems for a Happy Family Life you’ll find 25 apps to help you save money, inspiring ideas on how to share a beautiful home office, time management tips that work, and my favorite, “How to Put Yourself Into StartOver Mode” because everyone needs to StartOver. And over. And over!

Family Food and Feast is filled with sumptuous ideas for pumpkin and warm drinks. You’ll see that beer is better than you thought! There’s up and coming food trends to expect. And my kids and I laughed at pictures of miniature people with big food; it’s easier to just go see it than for me to describe it.

Family Learning has great links to apps for financial literacy, resources for youth chess players, and a very thoughtful article on the key difference between kids who excel at math and those who don’t (spoiler – it’s hard work.)

Or go straight to my Scoop.it page :)

Have a great week!

Love,

Angie, we are SO, so excited for you all and are praying for a healthy pregnancy for Devin and a happy, healthy little baby! My brother has a 2 1/2 month old baby girl. It is such a joy to get to hold and love such a little precious gift. I get to see her about once a week.

We are busy and happy and healthy -- sports, school, music. While I don't blog or do much internet at all, I'm trying to get here a bit more again. I'm looking forward to reading everyone else's updates!

HUGE CONGRATULATIONS ANGIE AND DAUGHTER!

I haven't been over here for quite a while, but I'm glad I dropped in to see the news!

Around here:

I am super happy and grateful too. Not that life doesn't have its challenges, BUT...

A couple of weeks ago I came down with a mysterious bug. They still don't know what it was, but it laid me flat. I have NEVER been so sick in my life. Fortunately, my husband works at home so basically he did his job and mine, and took on ALL the worry. Half the time I was not even fully coherent, I hear, and it's only been in the last few days that I could stand up or look at a page of text.

My kids would come and ask me what to do for school and I would mumble something....

It made me SO GRATEFUL that I am alive, that I have my husband           , and that I have the life I have. I love it so much, in spite of its challenges.

I am also very grateful that we've found a way of homeschooling that suits me and suits this particular set of boys.   I was so impressed the way my youngest stepped up to the plate. I did not realize he could do so much on his own.

So I am in Thanksgiving mode for sure!!! When I was sick, I realized so deeply how much God loves me, and how even my crosses are lovingly fashioned for my greater good and the good of those I love. I just hope I can hold on to that as I recover. It's so easy to see the problems and forget how He brings me through them, how much care He has for every detail.

Blessings!!!!

Oh Bridget, you haven't missed the pictures! We just haven't organized or posted them yet. When Devin comes home at Christmas, we'll work on them together :) Spoiler: She was GORGEOUS!

Oh WILLA! I'm SO sorry to hear that you were scary ill! I join you in your gratitude and happiness in healing!!! Many prayers coming your way, sister

Love,
