Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Fortunately, DH and I have both come to the conclusion that he must find another job! I've thought this for quite some time, but he's finally there too. His job has been constant stress and turmoil for two years now and there is no end in sight. So he just put in for a job that would be in two possible cities quite far from where we are in TX. He has the experience and some connections that should help, but you never know. If that doesn't work he has a pretty firm offer on another job but that won't happen until after Oct. 1 but we would still be moving within TX.

We are considering going ahead and putting our house on the market. Summer is the prime selling season and things have been selling very fast. I think our house would sell quickly. We're thinking of going ahead and having a pod thing delivered just to put all the things we want to keep but don't need in the house right now. That would just help us be less cluttered for showing and have a jump on the moving out. DH is thinking we list the house by the end on July, which if it sells like other homes have would mean we would be closing near the end of August or first of Sept. By that time we should know about the first job. If he doesn't get that one, we would have maybe 6-8 weeks before the other job. If that doesn't happen we would just rent a place here until we could move.

This all sounds so stressful, but I've been left to deal with moving after he's left for a new job more than once and I can't do that right now with 5 kids. We've also had paid moves before and this one will be all on us which means I have MAJOR decluttering to do.

He's worried about what we'll do if the house sells quickly or if neither job works out. I'm more confident that things will work out and be fine.

What do you think?

What's the availability of month to month rentals in your current area? that would be a major factor in going ahead.

As long as I had a plan in place for the inbetween time, and I was sure that we'd be moving out of the area... I think it sounds like a good plan.

Also, interest rates on home loans are rising, so, at least where I live, there's a rush to buy now because no one thinks the rates will go back down. Worth investigating.

Doesn't sound crazy to me.

Just one thought, when we were selling our house, we put the extra, non-clutter stuff in a regular storage facility because we weren't sure how long it would take to sell and wanted to be able to get to stuff in case we needed it. We did end up using a POD for when we were actually moving, but once the stuff is gone, it is gone until you have it delivered again. Just something to consider given the uncertainty of your situation. The regular storage facility did include a moving truck rental for a day as a sign-up bonus.

You could check with a potential real estate agent and ask them whether the sale (and any possible closing) of your home could be contingent on you finding a home and/or dh's job change. I'm pretty sure such restrictions on the sale are do-able. Might not be a real estate agent's preference, but it could help your family remain settled while/until your circumstances are settled. Praying to St. Joseph for all aspects of job, home and family life for you and your dear ones.
