Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

The Archdiocese just published the changes for the parishes.

We'll be losing our families most cherished priest :( He won't even remain in the city. I am happy as he will be Pastor where he is currently associate pastor, but we will miss him so much! He is very involved with the youth, and has a way that is so special.

He leaves in a little over 8 weeks. It's going to be so hard to say farewell.

Oh, I'm sorry! I hate this time of year with changes. I sure hope we don't lose the priest that comes for Mass at our church. That would be heart breaking for us right now. Thanks for reminding me that I should be praying about changes in the diocese right now.

Hugs to you and your family.

We went through this last year after geting very close to our (temporary) priest. He came to help during a time our parish priest's health deteriorated. He was there for my family through the worst time of life (almost lost our son). Devastating is an understatement. The parish cried during his goodbye...he cried...we cried.....
Parishioners even signed a petition begging the Archdiocese to let him stay. We have no idea where he went.

Stay positive & keep in mind that wherever your priest is going he will be a blessing to those people as he has blessed your parish & family.

Thanks, I'm no more at peace with this, I feel tears coming just thinking about it. It's going to be a hard thing to say good bye when that day comes.

It appears the other 2 are staying, our pastor and the other associate pastor, which is good. I was sure our pastor would be the one to leave as he's been here almost 7 years now and the other associate, I was positive he'd be going to the church that serves the deaf community, as he is deaf as well. But they are staying, we are getting 2 new associates. But that tells you something, for the one we lose, we need 2 to replace him. He is amazing.

I'm trying to and be open to these new priests, but it won't be the same.

I was sharing with my dc one day how hard it is to get attached to priest and then they have to leave. The children pointed out to me how much harder it must be for priests.

for you as you adjust

Our church is also undergoing this change, but unfortunately I am excited about our change. Our priest is extremely liberal.
