Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Wednesday is overrated. THAT'S why I'm shouting out on Thursday

My new blog post was lifted in part from an old blog post inspired at the time by a sweet name, nickname topic here :)

Sweet names Give it a like or a comment - would love to see you there :)

Hectic connecting...we're all running around like spinning tops on individual random paths, occasionally crashing into each other. Soooo we're looking at ways to communicate and fill each other's love tanks when life is unusually FULL.

For time management, we all needing to fill in the google calendar.

Love tank? We're finding small ways to connect - meals, working on projects together, watching The Voice

Oh, and Devin graduates from ASU TONIGHT! And from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism TOMORROW NIGHT!

Congrats to all grads!

How do you and yours connect when life is extra hectic?

Have a great week!

Love,

How wonderful, Angie! Go, Devin!

When my brother turned 40 he proclaimed that 40 is the new 20...
so I don't see why Thursday can't be the new Wednesday

Hectic connecting.

I think I'm good at this.

At least we've been married 20 yrs and still manage to be connected And hectic is practically normal here.

DH and I will go on errands together now that the kids are old enough to babysit. Sure it may just be dropping kids off somewhere or running into the grocery store to pick up milk. But it gives us that 15-20 minutes where we're away from the busy-ness of the house and can talk without being over heard by kids..

A "date" might only be a milk shake and French fries at the local burger joint in the middle of the day.. and if we need to talk about something specific, we often try and do this. It's short and relatively cheap and we have time to relax and really talk about something.

If I'm so busy I can't remember my own name (there are days... ) then I'll make a list of things I want to be sure to communicate with dh.

Sometimes when we both have a few minutes when we're not together we connect via phone. That's almost beneficial since we have to talk to connect that way.

And the biggest thing that helps us feel connected is touch. And that's everything from a hello kiss, to holding hands, to sitting close enough to be touching on the couch. But even when we're busy doing separate things, if we're touching in some way we don't feel as pulled apart and distant from each other when we do get private time together.

Congratulations to Devin!

Connecting.....well, reading aloud to the kids, Dinner together, going to dd's soccer games, watching movies, praying together, researching topics of interest together ( I know way more about gerbils than I ever thought I would know, but it has been fun ), picnicking in the yard, and talking in the van.

DH is involved with most of those ideas, but he and I use Google Calendar, text, phone, talk at night, and get out with the baby maybe once a month, now. It's still not enough, but we try!
