Seasonal allergies. Seriously THE top of conversation here in AZ. It's sort of torture because the weather is GORGEOUS yet...the wind is blowing and I'd prefer to avoid it thank you very much
7 weeks until Devin and Michael's wedding. Not stressed at all .
The Boston Marathon bombing has left me wiped out. I'm working on a blog post...processing.
Did I mention allergies?!
How you all doing? Have a great rest of the week
Love,

Ohyouhavenoideahowallergieswreckmyspring. (Should this be a Twitter hashtag?)
Seriously. College Dude Son is coping with seasonal allergies in Indiana...I get phone calls asking for advice, just when I'm checking out at the grocery store, and I have no way to find out whether #1 Son is actually following my advice. Finals, of course, are imminent. Meanwhile, Dancing Daughter has her BIG show this Saturday and she is suffering dreadfully. My husband is a mess, too. I have seasonal allergies, but apparently I'm doing much better this year than everyone else is. This is good, because Friday afternoon is devoted to mending, ironing and packing dance costumes.
Angie, I'm with you on the bombing. Unbelievable. We were just in Boston, in that very neighborhood, during Holy Week for the World Irish Dance Championships. Seeing photos from the bombing was unnerving. Dancing Daughter is scared and angry. She was just there...why was she safe and the runners were not? (She is too young to remember 9/11, which I suppose is a blessing, but now she has to cope with a bombing in "her" part of Boston, a city we all love and have visited several times. It's hard. Please pray for her and our other young Irish dance friends.)
One positive note: The family of the little boy who was killed is a Catholic Irish dance family. Jane, the younger sister of Martin, lost a leg in the bombing, and her mother sustained brain injuries and needs more surgeries. Jane was taking Irish dance classes (sadly, she won't be able to continue those classes, at least for now) and her dance school and Catholic parish are spearheading efforts to help her family.
I am so thankful for the Irish dance community's outpouring of love for the Richard family. Fundraisers are popping up all over the place, and someone is even making Jane a quilt from T-shirts provided by Irish dance schools around the country. Community support means a lot when you're living in scary times, and I'm thankful beyond words for Jane's church family and Irish dance family right now.
Jane's parish family has set up a fund and is also accepting cards for the Richard family...the parish is coordinating all efforts to help them during this very sad time. Faith in action, pretty much instantly.
Praying for you, Angie, as the weeks go by.

No seasonal allergies in Iowa yet, but that is because it is not Spring yet - we are currently in "flood season," which seems to go between "really long winter season" and "really hot summer season." But we do have one sunny day in the 10 day forcast!

Gosh allergies are SO debilitating for me this year. And since my respiratory illness from earlier this year, I've got asthmatic symptoms added to my regular reactions.
Cute potential hash tag, Nancy. I agree.
It's just really hard to enjoy the beautiful spring when you have to balance reactions.

Oh, I hit respond too soon. We're into baseball season (more allergies), adjusting to Kid pitch.
Used Book Sale "season" for me -- the next 8 days I'll be surrounded by used books (another allergy factor).
Knitting like crazy for a few projects with deadlines, and still doing pysanky, although health (allergies included) is slowing the process down.
But the creative process is messy, messy, messy. Same with feeling rundown and sick -- the house gets messy, messy, messy.
Feeling a bit overwhelmed.

Taking a few minutes from re-organizing my desk file folders to shout out a hello!
Yep - terrible pollen here, too. But the weather is beautiful and the kids are enjoying so much time in the sun!
We're wrapping up our school year here, and that always feels good! ** My 11th grader is a little further behind her siblings since she slowed down to study for and take the ACT last weekend, but she's back in the groove this week and hopes to finish up her work except for a few chemistry labs and some geometry in the next couple of weeks! Wow! A senior next year - it's bittersweet!!!
** My 7th grader is nearly done - he finishes up a book or two a day and leaves them on my desk for the family "librarian" to re-shelve.
** My 3rd grader is nearly done, too, and I'm working on a summer independent reading basket for him since his reading is taking off. I'm pleased with some of the selections I've gathered from our shelves for that!
** My 5 yo has expressed a great desire in learning to read and is ready, which is normally a really good thing, but she doesn't want to stop learning to read and take a break -- so that means we'll be doing little reading lessons through the summer. I'm working on a little reading basket for her with Montessori work, basic three-letter-short-consonant word tracing sheets, little readers, and some other reading manipulatives. Just gathering from my shelves! Helps me to have little collections together! AND....this baby is due in the next week and a half.
If labor doesn't start on its own next week, we'll induce on April 29! SO....I really, REALLY need to pack a hospital bag...especially considering the number of contractions I've been having. I have the baby's stuff together, I just haven't collected the few things I want to bring for myself.
And if I can manage it, I'd really love to tidy my bake center (that's on my "bonus-if-I-get-to-it" list for next week! ) and refill all my canisters with our pantry staples. And menus. Need to finish menus for the month...sooner rather than later.
And nap. Daily nap.
I sure hope y'all all have a wonderful week and weekend!

Everything here is covered in greenish-yellow pollen. It's nasty! It's even in my van. So far, only runny noses and manageable symptoms...so far.
Still exercising....thanks be to God!
Went looking for a dress last night...no luck! I'm finding that I'm too old for some of the cute styles that are in. Too casual, too fancy, too short, too long. I thought looking for jeans was difficult! I realized that I haven't shopped for a dress for a wedding in 13 years! I'm hoping I can find one this weekend.
The kids are almost done with school. They're getting fitted for swimsuits tonight for swim team. Chores are a forever struggle!
Husband will be home this weekend!
Have a great week!

Generic claritin is my friend this time of year .
I would love to have my windows wide open, but I can't have everything inside covered with fine green dust...
Cherry chocolate chip scones in the oven right now... yum

I feel like I am spaming this thread....sorry!
I wanted to post this article from Dr. Mercola on Alergies. I have only skimmed it, but it looks interesting.
Besides that, I am so overwhelmed that I can't stay and post more. I can't even worry about all the green pollen in my house and car.....that will be one of next weeks project, before my Mother comes!

The snow mold here is BRUTAL. We're not generally bothered much by seasonal allergies, dd16 gets irritated eyes, but this year, 5 of us are struggling to merely function!
