This year we're going to have my oldest's 16th birthday party on St. Patty's day. She's thrilled. The whole corned beef and cabbage and all is one of her favorite meals.
The official school spring break here is Holy Week and we'll probably follow along since my nephew will be wanting to spend time with my boys..

We will celebrate St. Patty's day in some way.
We sent off one of our sons today for a visit to his grandfather's who lives 1000 miles away.
Our girls are in a play this week...shows begin this weekend.
It was warm these past few days, but the cold has creeped in a bit.
For lenten devotion reading Following Christ by Gerard Groote and The Rule of St. Benedict
And this Wednesday 3/13/13...
Habemus Papam....what an incredible day! Watching his humble reception of the papacy moved me to tears. Praying for our dear Pope Francis. May God bless the work of his hands.

Still organizing here! DH and oldest dd have been sick, so it's been a long week. Throw in daylight savings time and I'm feeling tired. But, with all of the excitement yesterday, that really helped perk me up!
We are having a St. Patrick/Star Wars party on Sunday. It just so happens it was the only time to get together with fellow Star Wars friends. So, our food will be a combination of shepherds pie and Yoda soda!

At our house, St. Patrick's Day lasts all month. Irish dance does that to you.
We had a fun time at our local St. Patrick's Day parade on Sunday. Our dance school is quite large, so their group is always impressive. Dancing Daughter was one of about 20 dancers on the float (sounds good, but imagine dancing on a trailer as it is being pulled down the street!).
This week we have a performance at a local senior center, a music rehearsal and two more performances (in which Yours Truly is also appearing in the Irish music group). Then it's back to our crazy competition schedule!
St. Patrick's Day it self should be relatively quiet...I hope...

St. Patrick's Day isn't really observed here. My birthday and St. Joseph's Day overtakes it, usually. We're probably going to celebrate Ukrainian style on Sunday -- going to a Pysanky Bazaar and Workshop in DC.
This has been a bit of upside down week, first with the DST, then the papal conclave (did ANYONE get any work done yesterday afternoon?). And my oldest son is attending a 4 day retreat. Some members of his atrium were invited to join the elementary students of the Catholic Montessori school (which the atrium is attached) for the retreat.
He is having a very fruitful time, but also really enjoying the work and social aspects. He even voiced that he would really enjoy going there to school with the Elementary.
It's a new thing for me doing the drop off and pick up like a school day. And I'm not getting much done at home, even with one less!

Still on a high from yesterday
Pretty excited here as the electrician is installing fans and lights Our 'old' section has electricity and the 'new' section has lamps run on extension leads. When I explained to ds6 that the electrician was coming and putting in lights (ds was only 3 when we began building so remembers nothing else)he said, "but we have lights" I agreed but said I meant real lights, without extension leads. "Oh you mean switch lights"
With all the Papal excitement yesterday and working on our papal notebook (hierarchy of the church ) (only work done all day) I don't know what the poor man thought of it all, probably was a bit much

Irish Dancing family with 3 girlie dancers. Our crazy week starts tomorrow with performances at 8:15 am and 9:30 am. Saturday my girls will be dancing at our sister parish's (St. Patrick's) corned beef and cabbage dinner, followed by going to a hockey game to watch the older girl dancers perform. Sunday is children's choir at Mass (2 singers) and the St. Patty's Day parade (no float and BRRRR!). My only "special" thing I am doing for my girls this year, making green jello - it is what they asked for.
