Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hope your week has been GREAT!

Seriously, I working hard, hard, hard...but nothing new here. It sure feels like Lent.

How is your Lent going? This article, Lenten Rookie Mistakes made me laugh. How can I possibly have already "mistakenly" eaten chocolate? Amazing how great Lent is, especially when I'm not.

You?

Love,

I don't know if it's because it's Lent or just an unusual convergence of activities, not to mention tooth aches and headaches (I seem to have started having low level migraines cyclically.. twice a month )

So I'm taking a short break and hiding in my room.. but mostly I'm very busy making period correct-ish coats and putting together stuff for the Blue and Gold banquet and getting a shopping list for the Blue and Gold banquet potluk AND the soup and bread we're taking to the Soup and Bread supper after Stations of the Cross on Friday and for the Rendezvous we're attending just for the day on Saturday.

The week is flying by for us here! We are off this week from school and I'm not getting much done. Lent is passing us by too. I did get some reading materials today and I think we will be back on track once we start school again next week. Things seem to be off when we are off from school. I am getting a little bit of cleaning done. Yougest ds's room needed an overhaul. I want to clean out my closet too. It won't be a big job just mostly dusting and cleaning spider webs out of the corners. Hoping to finish those project tomorrow. Work on school planning on Friday. We have scouts blue and gold this weekend too.

We are expecting a winter storm starting in the morning. I made some prepartions just in case the electric goes out, but I don't think it will be that bad. Food is cooked for tomorrow, laundry is done, everyone is showered, and electronics are charged. Praying that all the prep was for nothing.

Off to finish up the laundry and go to bed early. Cleaning out my son's closet has worn me out! I think that was the most up and down I've been in a long time.

Our lent has begun with a bang.. Amy's concussion, Gracie's hearing loss and Becky's gall bladder surgery. I believe our lent has been chosen for us.

Things are as normal as they can be with these concerns on my mind. We made our salt dough crown of thorns today. It's amazing all the sacrificies and good works that are done during the first few days of our crown of thorns activity It seems the good deeds slack off during the middle of lent and then pick up again during Holy Week as the kids realize they want they crown free of "thorns" before Easter.

We did attend on daily Mass last week and made it to the Stations of the Cross on Friday night. Hopefully we can keep up with this for the remainder of lent.

I'm trying to find the perfect book to read aloud during this lenten season...I haven't found it yet, so if anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate them.

Tomorrow 7 of us visit the dentist starting at 9am. I thought this was a great idea when I scheduled the appointments...but now I am wondering what I was thinking...

Have a blessed week everyone.
