Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Anyone created any new goals for themselves for the new year? Talking more you as a woman goals here, not mother/wife ones. Though everything we do does affect the other I know.

Any creative goals, are you going to take up knitting? More personal goals, perhaps learn to say 'no'? Do you have an intellectual goal, perhaps read Summa Theologica? Perhaps something adventurous like skydiving or snake handling?

My goal is nothing as adventurous as swimming with sharks, but I do want to indulge my creative side more and improve my photography skills, to that end I'm searching for some photography challenges and planning on reading a little on the topic each week.   I'm also going to be firm about my boundaries. I'm considering a reading challenge as my reading standard has dropped drastically. Anyhow the first two are definites, the third..we'll see.

Gosh do I have any life that isn't me being supportive of someone or other? I read books. I crochet when I feel like it and have the time.

I don't know but there's a lot of cross-over in what I do.

For instance, the high school CCD here wants to start the Life Teen program and they've asked for more people to be a support group.. specifically not with the teaching but with other stuff.. I may be the first who said I would. Now sure, I'm gonna have kids in the high school CCD level (if we're here) for the next 18 years, so I have a lot of invested interest in the direction this goes. But on a personal level it's kinda fun/exciting to be challenged in learning more about this and so about the Faith and using creative skills to help with potentially planning stuff and well.. just lots of things (and yes I came home and the first thing I did was search this board but most all the info was on the Life Teen Mass.. will need to start a post soon).

I am doing more sewing.. but again it's for the kids for the Black Powder Rendezvous reenactment events.. and yep support role there too.. I keep up on the camp stuff and cooking and tracking kids.. BUT I love camping and the dressing up is fun, so I still have lots of fun with it.

One day I do want to learn to knit but not until some other stuff (namely scouts) eases up some.
