Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Silly me was checking our bank accounts online to make sure all was in order and I clicked on Dh's account (he has his own to pay for his business stuff) and found my Christmas gift! I didn't need to check that account because he checked on it earlier this week, but I wanted to make sure all was in order. Ugh! I'll work on my surprise face over the weekend!

oh no! you can teach yourself to forget though.. do not think about it, even when you're opening it, think about what you might when you don't know.. I know the kids always watch me closely so I say things like.. hmmm I wonder what it could be and oh it's squishy or .. hmmm it's in a box.. and if you really don't let yourself think about it, you still get most of the surprise (or at least delighted) factor.

I know one of mine, too. I was going to buy my husband a bacon press, and looked for it in one store with my son, so he knew about it. Didn't find the one I wanted, so I planned to get it later. In the meantime, my son saw my husband buy me one, so he told me I couldn't get one anymore! Poor kid, he didn't know which one of us he should tell! He decided to tell me, since husband already made the purchase. I guess great minds think alike! And have a similar desire for evenly cooked bacon!
