Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I just had to share this awesome electric griddle that dh gave me for Christmas, as I like to share a product that i like this much. We opened our family Christmas gifts on Gaudete Sunday instead of Christmas, as we'll be out of town all Christmas week, so I already got to test this gift out. It is pure joy to use. My Mom used to have an electric griddle when I was younger, and it was so nice for cooking family sized meals on it, especially things like grilled cheese sandwiches, or pancakes. So I went looking for a nice griddle that was similar to put on my wish list.

This Large Tilt n' Drain model is just amazing, it is larger than I expected, 50% bigger than the usual models you see in stores, which is great for family-sized cooking. Also the tilt function is even easier than I expected, you just slide the legs out to the side, and the griddle tilts down for grease to drain when cooking meats n' such. The heat was nice and even(so much simpler than stove top guesswork and I have cooked both hamburgers and pancakes and fried eggs on it. Pancakes and eggs have never been so easy or FAST to get done for the whole family! It was one of the first times in a long time where I have so much enjoyed making pancakes for a crowd. Now I have a simple "pancake creator" on my wish list for my birthday next month, it's only like $4-5 at Walmart, and it looks so fun to try with the kids.

Oh, I completely agree, Pilgrim!!!

Dh got this for me last Christmas in anticipation of our large family visiting us and we have used it extensively ever since! This is a great griddle, and not very expensive at all!!! I think we got ours on Amazon. It does take up a good amount of kitchen space, but I store mine upright on its side between my bake center butcher block and the wall and it stores nicely that way, not taking up too much room. It's been so great being able to make larger batches of pancakes, grill cheese sandwiches, etc. Last week, we made nice grilled ham and cheese sandwiches on it!

Enjoy your griddle, Pilgrim! We have enjoyed ours so much over the last year!

I was JUST thinking of mentioning that one of our family favorites is grilled lunch-meat and cheese sandwiches.

hmmmm now you've really got me thinking and checking some things out... you see.. looking at this sparked the idea to look at some waffle irons.. and if we go with belgian waffle makers (dh and I prefer the classic) The kids have a gift that could get the griddle and two waffle makers. Now my kids are making the pancakes probably 90% of the time.. so it's really something they both would use and would appreciate being used.. so maybe I'll just have to be very odd and get this for my kids.

Actually, that was the other cooking gift I got was a waffle maker, and specifically a belgium waffle maker, as I am particular about my waffles, not really liking the thin little waffles with not much for pockets.

I don't think that's odd to get it for your kids, as in my Mom's house as we grew, we all have been frequent users of such appliances. Hence the reason I knew I'd like having an electric griddle. It's neat to see now that I've moved out my brothers have taken my place in being a part of the household cooking, and watch what good cooks they are becoming. And now dd, just turning 12 is becoming a good cook, as well, and LOVES to cook and I really like that the electric griddle will take away the need for frequent temperature adjustments during cooking for her, and make pancakes, etc. easier for her to cook. Anything that makes cooking easier is great in my book.

edited to add: Here's the waffle maker dh got me I haven't used it yet, BUT I had a model of the exact same one just not the belgium version passed down to me from my in-laws and it worked very nice and was VERY easy to use and worked perfect following the directions. So I'm looking very much forward to trying this new one out. And I can tell by looking at the parts that make the pockets that it will have the nice deeper pockets.

This is definitely going on my wishlist. We use our griddle all the time, and I looked into bigger ones once, but all I could find we're expensive ones that weren't so much bigger, deciding for that, we could just get a second smaller one. An extra row of pancakes will prove very valuable in a short time, no doubt!
