Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Now that BF/CM is done, what other Christmas deals are you finding?

Barnes and Noble has a gift card promo right now... buy $90 worth of gift cards and get a $10 card for yourself free.   That's not bad if you are buying gift cards (which always make a nice birthday present for kids).

Also, in the bargain section at my store they had the Susan Branch 12 month notepad set with matching post-its and sticky tabs... monthly themed and so cheerful... for $12.98
Hmm.. might have to splurge for that, as it would be an easy way to stay festive through the year. My dc love to see little things like that,

Bargain section also always has Calvin and Hobbes books, for any fans out there.

Rainbow Resources has 101 Things to do Before You're 12 for $7.75.

This is a cool book- full of neat things to do, glossy pictures, very sturdy pages- almost all of it stuff you can do in your own town. It would make a great Tween gift- how fun to work through it with your dc

Just returned from Target and they had $10 sleep shirt with matching comfy socks for $7. They were $10 on black Friday. Glad I forgot it on Friday!

Target also had some good deals on Nikon cameras too. I went looking for the one in the ad and got one for $20 less and the only difference was the video quality. We take video once in a while, but don't ever save them, so I didn't need to spend the extra $20. I thought I got a great deal!

DK's The LEGO Book by Daniel Lipkowitz has been recently revised. Costco has it for $1.00 more than Amazon. They are also carrying The LEGO Ideas Book for $14.99, again $1.00 more than Amazon.

Corps of Rediscovery is running a huge sale, and also selling their own Ukrainian Egg Ornaments. Very beautiful!

Not necessarily a bargain, but Old Farmer's Almanac is featuring some fabulous made in USA wood toys. I really like the Backyard Birds memory game.

Costco also has some very nice page a day calendars- my favorite!

Mary Englebreit 2013 for $7.99 and Metropolitan Museum of Art for $8.99.

Get a load of the Amazon price for the Met calendar. Surely it won't stay that high??

How the States Got Their Shapes season one is on sale at Amazon right now for $12.98.

It's a four disc set. My library only has the 2 hour special, so this is a good deal for us and cheaper than buying the episodes individually. This will probably go under the tree for dh, who is hasn't seen any of it and is very interested.

Ms ds, 10, is really enjoying it. DD, 8, flits in and out. I think most older kids, especially if they like history, would enjoy it.

In other bargain news, my Walmart had lego sets marked up to 50% off in their bargain aisle on Saturday. I had to poke around in the chaos, but there were a few sets from the Lego Dino collection, plus some from the Lego City line. Also some zoo-themed sets and Duplos.

My ds, 9, has enjoyed the series since it first came out. Ds 5 also loves it, although some things are over his heard.

Thanks for the tip, Melinda!

You are brave to shop in Wal-Mart on Saturday! Great deals!

Insane is more like it! I had *NO* idea the store would be as mad as it was.
That was hopefully my last trip there until after Christmas. I had a return to make and thought I would just dash in. Ahem

Melissa and Doug Picture Frame Pad is $4.99 at Amazon and ships free with Prime.

My dd loves this pad, and it cracks me up to see her art work in these grandiose frames.

Sacred Heart Books and Gifts is offering free shipping, through December 15, for orders over $40. Use code JMJ495.

Sacred Heart Books and Gifts also has all three of the CDs by the Benedictines of Mary. I ordered the Advent one directly from the Sisters, but they did not have their Christmas and Marian CDs available.

Today, I ordered Storey's Illustrated Guide to 96 Horse Breeds of North America for my daughter who likes horses. Amazon seemed to have the best price on this book ($18.71). Hopefully, it is as good as some of the reviews indicated.

I just ordered this for dd. I think she will get a kick out of it. Thanks for the idea!

Very cute! You inspired me to gather up all of the broken crayons around here and buy the mold on Amazon. Those will be great stocking stuffers for my two boys!

American Girl had Marie Grace and Cecile with accessories for $50 each this morning. It's sold out now, but if they're dolls you're interested in you might be able to find them for at least less than face value on craigslist or ebay soon.

Just wanted to put a note in here about "How the States Got Their Shapes" since I had never heard of it until this thread. I ordered it for my sister's families for Christmas and then started watching it on Amazon Prime (it streams for free). I think the general content of the series is really good, but was surprised at some of the unscripted asides/comments. There's language in there I wasn't expecting and wouldn't let my kids hear and hope I haven't exposed my nieces and nephews to--need to call my sisters! There are expressions used like "oh cr*p" or "hot as H*ll" and "put a boot up their ...", upon unhinging train pins "well I'm not a v*rgin anymore", "d*mn Canadians" (said in jest). I've been previewing all of them and the watching again with them selectively muting or fast forwarding parts. I've only watched the first 4 episodes so I can't comment on later in the series.

Just wanted to put this out there so people could preview them. (And to let you know that you can stream them for free!)
