I definitely agree that we shouldn't discuss our political views here. BUt whatever your political views - email your senator's and representives as well as congressional leaders encouraging them to finally work together to avoid this fiscal cliff. I don't care what side of the political arena they are on - both "sides" need to compromise and quickly! If we all email them encouraging this - maybe they will get the message!

Me again, thought I'd include what I said in one email (all my emails were a version of this weather to a senator, representative or the president):

Mr. President, I write encouraging you to and all congressman (republican and democrat alike) to please work together to avoid this "fiscal cliff". No matter what side of the political fence one is on, to avoid economic disaster - it is sometime necessary to compromise. If republicans and democrats continue not to budge on their respective positions - the results for our country will not be good. Instead of looking like you all care for our country - you will all look stubborn and spoiled. It takes strong backbone to actually admit when compromise is needed for the greater good of the country. And yes, that may mean BOTH republicans and democrats alike need to give up insisting on certain things. I really get tired of the same old fights over and over! You all need to give in on certain things! It is actually embarrassing to see how the President, house and senate ALL refuse to compromise. I would LIKE to be proud of you all - instead I am discouraged and embarrassed. Please, for the sake of our nation - work with all members to come to an agreement. This lack of compromise on both sides doesn't make any of you look good. It is disheartening and frightening! While you all fight and refuse to budge our jobs, bank accounts. . . . will go down this fiscal cliff!
