FINALLY! I did it! I went to Mass! (see this thread for the back story).

I got up early on Sunday, woke up my daughter and headed to early Mass. I wasn't too anxious, just a normal excited type anxious, but did have to stuff down the urge to run out the door a couple of times. When we knelt for the first time, that's when I started crying. I couldn't stop crying! It was a mixture of thankfulness for being there, happiness that I made it that far, and sadness (a bit of anger still as well) for having to struggle SO HARD just to do something as simple as attend Mass. I just kept repeating in my head "Jesus I trust in you" the entire time.

PLUS, it didn't feel *fake* anymore. I was floundering in my faith, but God has shown me so much lately that confirms my faith. Many small answered prayers, several episodes of complete peace (you know the kind that only comes from the divine), and some unimaginable coincidences that can't be explained. I guess I'm just one of those that needs a little proof every now and then to keep me in line.

Lara, I have tears in my eyes!        God is so good. He meets us where we're at and confirms our steps towards Him. I can't tell you how many times I've needed those little proofs too. I'm so happy that you had a great experience. Don't look at the sadness or anger. So much grace is given to us *through* that hard struggle to get to where we're going. Our journey towards God is a process and it's in struggling to submit ourselves to His will for us that our spiritual muscles are strengthened.
