What happy news!
We're less stressed than last week, thanks be to God. Dancing Daughter has landed a job (teaching dance, of course!), so now we're going to be working on 1) making a space in our home where she can teach and 2) making a regular trip to the credit union so she can practice her financial management skills by saving part of her pay.
We also found out today that the vision issues that have been plaguing her are fixable via reading glasses...another blessing, as we had thought vision therapy was in our future. (Note: If your child has eye focusing issues and takes an antihistamine, those two things might be related. Who knew?)

Joining in the !
Our church fall festival is done! Made myself some notes for changes to next year and don't have to think about it until August of next year.
Now onto Scout popcorn. Started with a meeting last night and will be going 24/7 until Thursday evening. Then I have a break and this will be over before Thanksgiving and I will very happy.
School is going well this week. Praying I finish popcorn stuff tonight so we don't miss any school tomorrow.

Cassie, we are in the Popcorn mode as well!
Congrats on your daughters engagement Angie!
Still waiting patiently (well, kind of) for our house to sell. School is humming along nicely and the weather is starting to cool - I LOVE the fall weather!
Our first family campout is this Friday. Should be interesting since I haven't slept outside, in a tent, in-oh- about 20 years! Plus it's my birthday this weekend!

Congrats Devin and Angie and all so exciting!!
Went to our last Rendezvous for the season.. tons of fun! I love the people and how they include the kids.
Onwards.. changing over to winter clothes a bit early so I can sort and thin down the clothing stash for a yard sale a week from friday. Since we keep out short sleeve shirts all year I'll let the kids keep out a couple pair of shorts/capris and then put them away all together in a bag so that I can just grab that bag at Thanksgiving.. lots warmer at the ILs than here and it's nice to have the summery things there. Trying to get this all done and clear out the garage a bit more before cleaning up the camping gear and getting it put away for the winter.
Started Visual Latin with my older kids.. we've only gotten to the first lesson but so far they're enjoying it. I have to say he sold me when he was "telling the kids" how many hours it takes to master a skill and that that's how many hours, on average, boys spend on tv and video games and why not spend that time learning a skill that you can use in life instead of something you get "no credit" for.
Oh yes and just starting up popcorn here too. Boy Scouts just got their order forms last night and Cubs will get theirs tomorrow night so I'll start sending them out this weekend Love having a bigger boy scout to send out with the cubs

Super thrilled for Devon and your family. And so it begins, such loveliness and memories. A simply wonderful time!
What to report -- well, we're almost done with the living room, so I'll be making my niche and getting our books back together and I'll be able to think straight and breathe.
But first my oldest turns 9 on Saturday, so that will get in the way of organizing and planning. I get very sentimental at the birthdays. I especially cry over the birthday cake, because of his food allergies. He loves what I make and looks forward to it. And that gets me choked up every.single.time I think of it.
Weather is turning cooler, had some terrific storms and about 1" of rain. Made a chicken with sauteed tomatoes for dinner with the last of the ripe tomatoes. Delish.
Waiting for hubby to get home. His train is stopped due to some gruesome thing on the tracks near us. All roads are closed and big police investigation. He's stuck, and not sure when he's getting home. Poor thing, he's sick with a cold and I know very hungry.

Congratultations!! What exciting news to be reading this evening.
We are supposed to be heading to Christendom for the weekend...but now I am not so sure. Luke had a stomach bug a few days ago and now three of the littles are down with colds and Mark was diagnosed today with an ear infection....It doesn't sound like it would be a very enjoyable trip. Hubby says we will decide tomorrow what to do.(we leave Friday morning) I am a little nervous about heading 7 hours from home and not knowing whose ear will hurt next, or who will started throwing up!
On a good note, Luke has begun his preparation for a springtime First Holy Communion. It is such a special time. I especially enjoy this one on one time as each child starts the journey to this very special day.
The autumn temperatures are here and it so refreshing to wake up to the crisp, cold mornings. We could see our breath this morning which really excites all the kids!
Have a great week, everyone.

Wahoo! on the engagement news. Congratulations!
I do not have any exciting news like Angie's. Things are zipping along here. We are having our first Sabbath Week this week. We have school for 6 weeks and then rest for one week, hence the name Sabbath Week. I had hoped to do fun family things during this week but due to all of the busyness in our lives lately, I had to use this week to clean the house.
Harvest is just about done--two more days and it will be behind us. It took seven weeks to finish the combining this year. I thought it would never end.

That is awesome news. Congrats!!!!!!
We have had kind of a down week. My husband started passing a kidney stone on Saturday. He is going tomorrow for one more appointment and then will need to get a stent on Friday since it is too large to pass. Please send up some prayers that he will miraculously pass it before Friday!
We took the week off from homeschooling for a sanity break for mommy. It has been nice, but I miss my routine!

Ah, what wonderful news Angie. Congratulations to Devon and Michael
Praying for your intentions ladies
Not much to report around here. Just getting on with our sixth week I can't believe it!
And while warm weather in Sept. and Oct. always make fall not so obvious...the kids and I did catch a glimpse of a few changing leaves while under our favorite Oak tree this past Monday. What a great entry for our nature journals and book of firsts

Congrats to Devin and the whole family, Angie!
I have one week left until my due date! So we've been busy cleaning house and finishing up our first term of school, which is going really well so far. My oldest daughter's birthday is early next week, so I've been prepping some little gifts for that too. Just basically enjoying this fairly calm time before it gets crazy with a newborn! Oh, and choosing a name for this little lady--nothing yet! Please pray for divine inspiration!

Hi Everyone!
Big Congrats to your family, Angie! How utterly breathtakingly exciting!!!
WE are preparing for yet another surgery on Monday....Gabe is getting his tonsils out...sort of a big deal.....getting food ready for the week, trying to get caught up on laundry after an epic weekend of camping three hours away. School is going well, adjusting here and there, but we love all that we are reading this year.

Long day...six hours of driving for doctor visits! But had to just pop in quickly to say
to Angie, her whole family, and especially Michael and Devin!
Prayers for all!
Now..to get ready for bed, where I've been longing to be all day (sounds like some kind of old time song, "I'm dreaming of a white pillow.. ")

Oh Anigie!!! Such wonderful news in your family! God bless those two and God bless their engagement period - this is truly a wonderful time!
... I remember my engagement ... my mother took over everything ... and I loved that I barely planned a thing! I was the total opposite of Bridzilla. If memory serves, my catch phrase was "sure, that's fine, whatever works..."

Oh, I can just see Angie as the "wedding planner" - now that she is all into nail polish and pretty clip boards.
