I'm Cindy Blinn I live in Rochester NY(someone here from Buffalo right?), I have been married almost 29 years. We have eight kids ages from 28 to 7. I homeschooled my three oldest when they were in their middle school years, back in the early 90's(not a lot of good resources out there back then). Now I just hs the two youngest. This was my first year back to hs'ing, and we have been having a great time. Though we started out the year with me trying to teach like I *tried* to teach the last time....I found that I am more and more drawn to a more natural way of learning. We have been switching some of our materials around to reflect this. My poor dh however, still thinks we should be doing the "school at home" routine. I read "Real Learning" last fall, and I am still absorbing everything in it. I am so glad to have found this group...just reading through the posts has taught me a lot already!!

KC...I am an Army mom and almost Army MIL(dd is getting married in August). My son is stationed at Hunter AAF in GA, and dd's fiance is with the 82nd Airborne in Iraq.

My dh was in the 82nd early on in his career. He would give his left arm to be in it again. Me, I could do without the middle of the night alerts and jumps. DH is headed to Iraq in the next week. My prayers are with your son in law to be.
