Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

We'll be celebrating my grandmother's 90th birthday with an extended family brunch in a week and a half. I'm wondering if anyone can help me think of something my four children (ages 4-12)and I (and possibly their young cousins) could present as a gift for her. I'm thinking of something along the lines of reciting a poem/song/skit that would be cute and sweet and entertaining for those present. My grandmother loves music and is quite theatrical. Any thoughts? Any poem or song suggestions that would work as a tribute to a wonderful woman? Thanks!

A poem from her childhood. Or make up a play or skit about a favorite memory. Have fun. Annie

Or rather than just one poem.. perhaps you could tell the "story of her life" in such a way that you can have each of the children do a short poem that's appropriate at different parts of the story.

Or songs from different times in her life..."Happy Days Are Here Again" for the FDR years, for example...

Not sure of her temperament, but I think the song "15 years" by Five for Fighting is fantastic...

Thanks so much for the suggestions! I'm really having a mental block about this... I like the 15 years song. Does anyone have any specific poems or other tribute type songs to recommend? We have too much going on right now to write our own... Thanks!
