have a hotel recommendation for me? Most of our family is going to be in DC this coming weekend for my godbaby's baptism. They live in Alexandria and the baptism is in Burke. Anyone recomend a hotel for my family to stay at Sunday night? We would love to stay somewhere with a pool so the kids could swim.
Any ideas?

Two things come to my mind immediately:
1) Springfield is between Alexandria and Burke
2) You better make those reservations! (My friend is having guests just a little south of Springfield in a couple of weeks and the hotels are starting to fill up)
Both my dh's and my families are local, so we don't have much experience with hotels. Maybe the Springfield Hilton? It has an indoor pool.

BTW, I live in Burke. Is the baptism at Nativity?

Yes, it is! My Dh's brother in law and sister in law joined the church at Easter Vigil and are having both their daughters (1 and 6) baptized next weekend. We are thrilled!
PS. Thanks for the recommendations.

Okay, I know you could do your own internet search and are looking for some personal recommendations. BUT in case you don't get any, here are some more to try. (I don't know if outdoor pools will be opened yet. Even if they are, I wouldn't count on the weather being warm enough or dry enough!) Also, unless you have plans for breakfast, it saves money and time if your hotel has a free breakfast.
Courtyard by Marriot
Hampton Inn
Best Western (I think it only has an outdoor pool)

We are still cold enough here that I did not even think about outdoor pools...I was thinking indoor. This is just an added treat for the kiddos who LOVE to swim.
Our local pools are only open June through August 3rd so there is not a big swimming season here in Ohio.

I had my wedding reception at the Springfield Hilton! And, I can vouch for the pool. Imanaged that pool through high school. Of course, that was twentyish years ago!
Rebecca, how long will you be in the area? Can we meet somewhere?

I will only be in town from dinner Saturday night through about lunchtime on Monday. We are staying at bil's on Saturday night. The baptism is Sunday afternoon followed by a small party at my brother-in-laws house. I think we will be free Sunday night for a bit later in the evening.
Monday am is also an option but my dh is helping build some bunkbeds with his brother so the kids and I could possibly be free then also. I will get it all ironed out in the next couple of days.
I'd love to meet you!
