I know it sounds really grose, but it really worked. If he worked in the garden on Saturday or did something heavy duty outside, his clothes had a certain, shall I say "perfume" about them. Hanging these clothes in the garden kept the critters away for at least a day or two. Of course, it doesn't last as long as some of the chemicals you can buy but it is a cheap alternative. (I hope I haven't grosed some of you out too much - stinky clothes and hair - yuck!)
