Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I very recently watched There Be Dragons about St Jose Maria Escriva and the Spanish Civil War.

I went in with low expectations (always good) and thoroughly enjoyed it. I loved the messages it expressed and felt it was aimed at a person of any faith or walk of life. I believe it is very powerful in it's convenance of the need for forgiveness, the universal need that never comes easy. I thought it was powerful and moving in many scenes.

I thought the movie was brilliantly filmed, just from an artistic perspective.

I would definitely recommend this movie to anyone who has not yet seen it.

I'm also looking forward to seeing The Way with Martin Sheen and Emilio Estevez after watching the EWTN World Over Live interview last week. I believe it has already been released in the USA (I will be watching it on DVD). Has anyone seen it and have any thoughts to share?

My dh saw There Be Dragons, and really liked it. When he narrated it back to me (which is how I like to "watch" movies) he kept saying how it wasn't what he expected but was really good.

I hadn't hear of The Way, but I will definitely need to look into that one.

I saw "The Way." I LOVED it!!! I saw it once with dh and then asked one of my girlfriends to go see it with me. She loved it, too. Oh, and dh actually got choked up during it.

It isn't a "hit you over the head" sort of movie about Catholicism. It's message is more under-the-radar, but it's there, and gives anyone something to think about.

For me, it made me want to rush home and pray a Rosary, even though there is only a passing reference to the Rosary.

The images of their journey are beautiful, and the part inside of St. James is amazing!

If you haven't checked out the website , do check it out. The trailers and clips of Emilio and his dad, talking about producing this movie, are so interesting!

I highly recommend this movie. I don't know if it is still being shown in the US. It came out in the fall, as an independent film, and around here (metro Detroit,) the only theaters I knew of that had it were AMC.

Make sure to take a LOT of kleenex with you to the theater!

In Christ,

Thanks Stacy for your thoughts on The Way, I'm certainly looking forward to seeing it.

You'll have to see There Be Dragons, Betsy when it's out on DVD!
