I was elated to find out I have some tickets for the Easter Egg Roll at the White House this year. It's my first time, and I was looking forward to it.
But then I hear there are protesters wearing rainbow leis that are going to be all around at the roll this year. I won't let them spoil my day, but boy that makes me . See article.

Hi Jenn...
I read the article and just don't see how it isn't political... ...
Anyway, I like your attitude about not letting them spoil your day. I truly feel sorry for them as they just don't understand...
Enjoy your Gregory! Share the pics!

I hope you have a wonderful time - we went one year and although the waits and crowds were awful, it was so much fun! Hope you have great weather!

Alas, my chain is broken, but I was thinking along those lines, Mary!

Use a ribbon. It's very "in" these days.
God bless,

Yes, we went. Wet and cold. I went with my sister and her son, so we had two 2 1/2 yo boys, who were VERY well behaved. I think the biggest part of the trip for them will be the Metro ride. We didn't stay long, but did the Egg Roll and saw some characters.
The roll was fun (although brief), and I think I want to incorporate it into my Easter traditions. It's supposed to be reminiscent of the large stone that rolled away from in front of the tomb at the Resurrection. But the added bonus, ds who isn't supposed to touch eggs b/c of allergies could actually play it, because the spoon touches it!
Saw a few leis, made me bristle, but not as many as I expected. Perhaps they melt in the rain.

I heard on the news last night there were only about 75 coupels in leis expected.
It is such a fun day! We have been three times. The last time we went it was so rainy that they ended up closing early! One year we got a brief glimpse of President Bush, my dd was so excited!
Glad you had fun!
