Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My 13 year old wants one. I have some concerns about giving him internet access anywhere he wants it. Can anyone give me some input as to if your kids have them, what age they got them, and how you can keep track of what they are doing on the things?
He wants one to do e-mail, use GPS(he wanted to see how many miles he rode the tractor when he did the lawn yesterday ), load some apps/games, listen to music. We have our family computer in a public place and this thing goes against all my safety precautions.
Thanks!!

My 11YO nephew just got one for his birthday. I have the same concerns, which my DH talked to my brother about. I have big concerns about all of the boys in the family gathering around a device with unrestricted internet access AND unrestricted e-mail. Seems like a recipe for disaster if you ask me.

I don't know what type of safeguards you can put in place with one. I would be interested to find out.

You can set a passcode and turn various functions OFF or ON although there isn't a lot of fine-tuning (web browsing is either OFF or ON for example)

So if your son was OK with getting his apps and music through iTunes on the desktop (where you could see what he's getting) you could have the IPod set so that the webbrowser and stores are not accessible.

I might be fine with web browsing either on or off--if I could have a password to do that. When he wanted to use it he would need me
Is that a possibility?
