They are driving me nuts! Power cords and chargers from cell phones, computers, iPods, Kindles, cameras, etc strewn all over the house and hanging from every outlet! I can clean and tidy a room and still it looks so messy from all of these cords everywhere!

 | I'd love to find a way to hide them, coral them, or tame them in some way, but I am not coming up with anything.
 HELP!
How do you deal with all those chargers?

But it was basically a box.. with a power strip in it.. and you could plug your chargers into the strip and there were holes that the cords came out from.. so that all you have was the box with the power strip plug coming out and the cords for charging.. I think the cords might have been labeled? but it kept a lot of the mess hidden.. and could be moved around.. if you have enough you might need more than one box.. but it does help with the containing and neatening.

I remember seeing something like that...was it a "charging station" or something like that?

 Good for a nature enthusiast.

Googling "charging station" did bring up many other options for inspiration.

That is too cute. We just have a simple Cherry Wood Valet one. It's great for hiding all the cords and the little drawer is perfect for dh to put his wallet and work ID in. All in one spot when he walks in and walks out

 | But I just did a quick count and we have at least 10 devices that need to be charged, not including laptops.
As the Taco Bell Chihuahua said, "I think we're gonna need a bigger box".

I know that the most convenient place for me to charge my iPad is in bed, and I have an appliance extension cord that sort of stays stuck between the mattress and headboard because the time I use it most is during early morning or nighttime nursing marathons or to watch a movie or tv with dh before bed. So, yes, I sleep with my iPad
, and it wouldn't be convenient for me to have to charge it in a central location, yk? I think a kindle would be the same for me.
So, maybe find individual solutions in the places that the charging naturally occurs. If you like to keep your cell phone on your nightstand, put a station there. If it is on the entryway table, there.

I have some of those pretty boxes (like cigar boxes) that stationery comes in that I plan on drilling a hole into for our cell phones. That way the extra length of cord is inside the box, and it will look pretty just sitting on the desk. This would probably work for a camera or mp3 player.

One of the magazine files from Ikea (either the nicer solid wood or the cheapest paper one) would work on a desktop. they all have a hole on the tall side as well as the short side, so, you could have it sitting on the desk, and the tablet could rest on its side inside while charging. You could fit multiple tablets at once.

We are short on electrical sockets so we have one power board where all these recharging items are plugged into (not including computers, they all have their home in the study.) So although the power board (five sockets) plus the surrounding 'frame' dh built is ugly at least it is only one mess spot.

Wow! You could eliminate the need for wires altogether

). I just found this article on it!

I missed this first time around, Theresa, but I have a wicker basket on the counter near an outlet, and everyone's charge cord is kept in the basket. My question is why do we have to have a different sized port for every phone?

 | I did hear from oldest ds (a rumor?) that the phones are being/going to be made with same-sized ports. Does anyone know if that is true?
