Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

We just found out we will be moving to Charleston, SC (the area) in July (or there abouts). I have the HSLDA link talking about the homeschooling laws: http://www.hslda.org/laws/analysis/South_Carolina.pdf

What do I really need to know. DD will be 4 in December so we don't really have to worry for another year really. We will be there for the next 4 years so we will need the information not this year but the next.

Also, we are going to be buying house. The market is SUPER flooded. We are looking to stay in the Summerville, North Charleston, Goose Creek areas. Any rec's on a neighborhood or area would be super helpful. DH will be working at the Weapons Station in Goose Creek.

No words of wisdom about homeschooling--it wasn't my season of life when I lived there--but enjoy. I loved living in SC. I went to University of South Carolina--loved it. I lived in Columbia after graduation for 3 years, but visited the low country often--it was only 2 hours away!!. SC has everything from beautiful beaches, people, mountains, and culture.
Good luck to you!

I will admit part of what I am loving so much is that the housing market is great for our price range/budget and that it is a beautiful place. We are closer to family too. Only 12 hours or so from family. I found a school that meets the needs of DD too. She was going to do a 3 day/week morning program here in WA to make friends and be around other kids. Found another place similar for a very comparable price in SC. and that meets her needs. We have been so blessed with the director at her preschool this year who said she would willingly look over the school and give her impressions on it for us.
