My rosary broke some time ago and dd's broke at Christmas too. Where do you buy your rosaries?

There are several here who make rosaries, I think. We make our own but don't sell them (they're pretty but not THAT pretty yet :) ) ... however, perhaps you should check out Ruth's rosaries. She does beautiful work.

Oh! There are several wonderful Catholic ladies who make rosaries. I was trying to find my links and I can't seem to find the others except this one:
One is a long-time 4Real member, Ruth.
For Christmas I bought a tenner for my husband from Ruth at Loreto Rosaries. He's very, very hard on rosaries. This one is lasting daily wear and tear, and he keeps reporting on how strong and durable. Plus, it's absolutely beautiful!

Someone's daughter here makes some that are just really lovely.
oh my..
Thanks so much for the reminder
I had bought my oldest daughter one for her Confirmation and just realized that my son's is coming up and I want one for him too.
Anyway.. the young lady who made the one for my daughter was so nice and helpful.. since it was for Confirmation I really wanted one with a Holy Spirit center but not in the red, black or white that they typically come in and she made one in purple (my daughter's favorite color) with the Holy Spirit center.. definately well worth the not exhorbitant cost for a special rosary. Though I pick up ones much cheaper to have a variety on hand at home and in the van.
ah ha.. I remembered she has a blog and sure enough I saved it
Elizabeths Rosaries
ETA the blog doesn't look very current

I am a long time rosary maker that is just getting back into crafting rosaries.
I specialize in wire wrapped rosaries in Sterling, Bronze, Brass and Pewter that are beautiful, as well as, very durable.
I will have more pictures and possible an etsy site up in a few weeks as I prepare for a conference that I am attending.
PM me if you are interested.
P.S. All the people mentioned above do lovely work!

Betsy, I can't wait to see your work! Please post your etsy site on the Trading Post Business Cards when you get it up!
I remember another site, Beads of Mercy by Kimberlee.

I bought a car rosary and a beautiful rosary for myself last year from Prayerful Beads. She was very gentle and patient (with me) to work with .

I agree with Betsy. The other women really do lovely work. They have been my inspiration.

Ruth, your rosaries are beautiful! I am always inspired by your website...we have a zillion rosaries at my house, but I yearn to own one of yours some day.
I love the idea of buying a rosary from 1)someone I know from 4Real or 2)a reputable Etsy or other crafting retailer who is Catholic.
Jillian, you might also see if there are rosary-makers at your own parish; my parish has a large group of rosary-makers, and their work is beautiful. This would be particularly helpful if you want to see and hold the rosary in person before you buy it.
What I would suggest to you, too, is to buy from a Catholic individual or company - I've never seen a rosary made in China, that I know of, but I am sure they exist. If you're looking for a relatively large online Catholic retailer, I know that Aquinas and More has a not-made-in-China policy. (I realize that many useful items are made in China, but I, personally, prefer to buy rosaries made by Catholics or Catholic-owned companies or by dear friends who know how important my faith is to me, even if they don't share it.)

I have to agree with you, Nancy. And I've been so displeased with store-bought rosaries (probably made in China). Let's just say not boy proof AT.ALL.

I actually looked at Aquinas and More today and LOVE their not made in China policy (for different reasons than they state but their reasons are good too)
I like to support working at home moms as much as possible because I know how beneficial a little extra help financially can go and I like supporting moms who are using their God given talents to further the faith.

ETA: I want to get a nice one for dd (not expensive but pretty) that we can use during family rosary and another one that she can take in the car or to Mass (like a rope or knotted one). I am pretty sure I have seen knotted/rope rosaries somewhere, I want to say CHC but I can't remember.

I know that you all have already spoken about Ruth's rosaries but I just wanted to pipe in and tell you how thrilled I am with mine. Ruth worked with me to find the perfect stones and I LOVE the results.
Just a little plug for a beautiful rosary maker:)

I've loved the ones I got from Two hearts rosaries. They have a lifetime guarantee...and I've never had to use it in 9 years!

Little plug for Ruth’s rosaries.....she sent me one out of the kindness of her heart when Lily was desperately ill in the hospital. It is the loveliest and most durable Rosary I have ever, ever owned. Thanks dear Friend....it is my most cherished Rosary!!!

chiming in to say Ruth's and Kimberlee's rosaries are really lovely and well made. well worth the investment. They both stand behind their work which is a real plus when one is paying a higher price.
Ruth made one for my dh, and by his fault it got caught in the wood stove door, don;t ask it broke and Ruth repaired it for free.
Aussie Annie's work is gorgeous and I am certain other's name mentioned are as well. I am speaking from my experience.

I have rosaries from both Kimberlee and Ruth. They are so lovely. And I must add that Ruth sent me a rosary when I was home for my mother's funeral. It is a gorgeous Our Lady of Guadalupe rosary (she is the patron saint of our family). Ruth was so kind and gently. She had prayed with this rosary and on my return home, I held it for the entire plane trip. I cherish this rosary immensely!
