I much prefer my son to have a clock face than a digital watch, but we have now gone through 3 Timex watches analog. That old saying "Takes a licking and keeps on ticking" never met my son. I really don't think it's all him...the watch isn't keeping time right.

Hoping that I can find another brand or type of watch that is durable and almost kidproof. Any suggestions?

I went to Target last year and picked out two for my ds's. I think one was a Timex and I can't remember the other. I when with how they fit on their wrists vs. a specific design/model.

Originally I wanted an analog watch too, so they would learn to tell time. However, one of the HUGE benefits to a digital is the timer. I have had success with them setting their timer when it's time to leave friends homes, so that they can keep track of "15/20/30 mins" and I don't become the bad guy when we have to leave.

I like Flik Flaks and Choufleurs. We did have to change the straps on two of the ones we've had, but the watches themselves have lasted.

Just a thought, some people, because of the way their bodies react to electromagnetic fields, cannot wear watches. They won't keep time correctly.   So maybe it's the watches, but it could just be him. Something to keep in mind.

Okay these Rumba watches may look funky, but they are really cool. I bought a bunch, one for each of my kiddos and my nieces for Christmas. At the time they were on special at zulily.com (you need a personal link to signup, I can send one if you want, pm me). They aren't on right now, but I've seen them come back through again. Anyways...these suckers look way hardy!

I never thought of this! I wonder if I can still find the old fashioned wind-em-up watches? Maybe garage sales...

Last spring we looked at tons of watches for my ds for First Communion.
We wanted one that could survive a boy, was waterproof and had numbers and hands.

After looking on line and at several stores, my dh finally came home from Target one day with the winner: an Armitron. It has been great- taken a lot of abuse, looks very "boyish" and runs fine after nine months of life with a Boy.

And after all the watches we looked at, this one only cost about $14! We are very happy with it.
