What are your favorite comfort measures during labor? What has best helped you through the pain naturally? I want to go natural again this time, and want to rack up ideas to help with that, and especially to give dh ideas so he can help me implement or even just remember so he can remind me. Any ideas are so very welcome!

heat can be nice.. I stood in front of my wood stove that would blow heat at my lower back during one labor.. nice. Massage/counter pressure on my lower back/upper hips is a big one.. walking around is good too.. That's usually all I use.. just the thought of being wet makes me cringe so I won't use a shower or tub.. but those are big ones for people it works for.

I have found heat, and a hot bath helpful. The last one I was able to implement much comfort measures during was almost 10 yrs ago, with oldest dd. The second one I labored alone most of the time due to scheduling and such, and last time was very different for me with the twins, it would go back and forth on whether I was even feeling the contrax. I just kinda feel the need for a refresher on comfort measures!  Also, so often on here we'll give each other ideas others may never have thought of.

My main aid during labour is an old fashioned rocking chair!
I can rock longer then I feel comfortable walking (particularly since walking was very uncomfortable by the end of my last pregnancy) and the motion is very helpful.
When rocking no longer works I get by with prayer (labour is very good to offer up and holding my husband's hand (after five babies he's gotten very good at telling how labour is progressing by my hand grips  ). My husband also provides a firm hand for counterpressure where needed.
Another *very* helpful aid has been a warm compress on my perineum during the last stage of labour. I find the 'ring of fire' sensation to be the worst part of labour and the warm compress *really* helps with that.

My birthing ball is my best friend during labor. Just rocking on a soft surface at the rhythm that I need, is awesome. I also used those rice filled fabric pouches that hubby warmed up and placed at my lower back.
The most important thing for me is a lack of distractions, no background noise, no talking and low lights. I need to concentrate and spend my time trying to picture the monstrance and with those things I get very easily distracted.

water, in any form possible. warm baths, long showers, hot tubs (I was blessed enough to have that last option at my midwife's birthing suite). my latest baby was born in the shower.

I am really blessed that our small town hospital has an awesome birthing dept. every room is homey and comfortable with a glider rocker, birthing balls available, and a whirlpool tub in every room   ! You also are in the same room from arrival until checkout, and the nurses and doctor are great.
It's actually really neat. For my first 2 births with this small town practice I had the midwife, and last time with it being twins the Dr. had to be involved. Well, I always liked midwifes better than Drs., but having had the Dr. last time I was pleasantly surprised by her, and found her to be even better than the midwife, and a better fit with my personality, more calm, and laid-back, and just very pleasant. This time around I switched to the Dr. So, in that way I'm looking forward to this birth, I think it will be a positive experience.
Thanks for the reminder of how helpful the birthing ball can be, I actually have one at home to sit on, it helps with my sciatica, I'll remember it during labor. The rice sock was very helpful during labor with oldest dd, my Mom was just reminding me about it yesterday, too. I love the idea of focusing on the Monstrance during labor!!!!That is one of my favorite devotions(adoration), which I so seldom am able to enjoy.

I had natural births both times. It was such a blessing. : )
With my son I found one of those giant exercise balls (aka birthing ball) very helpful. With my daughter a rocking chair was my best friend, lol. It also helped when my husband applied pressure to my lower back and massaged it at times. I wore my miraculous medal through the labor and birth and that was also a great comfort.
I'll keep you in my prayers in the coming weeks.

Ditto the birthing ball too. Also I love mopping the floor on all fours at the beginning of labor.

Birthing ball here too. I wish I'd had it for the first 8 --but the last 2 it really helped a lot!
