Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

OK ladies with pretty taste...I need a new pair of eyeglasses and wonder what you like and what is currently considered pretty.

Also, where do you get your eyeglasses? Thanks!

Love,

I don't know about pretty or about what's in style (hmmm I should pay attention I need new glasses soon)

But I've heard that Zenni Optical is very cheap (single vision) and people like the glasses they get.. so you could get multiple pairs without breaking the budget and try some different styles out.

Well, I don't know if they are pretty, but these are my current glasses.

You can ask your sister if what she thinks of them! :)

My hubby picked out my glasses.

(My previous pair broke and contacts were irritating my eyes so we went to the one hour wait...Lens Crafters.   I couldn't even see the glasses to choose. ... I. AM. BLIND!!!!! Hubby did a great job. I have a sorta kinda decent pic, minus the glare, on my blog as the profile pic.

Not really sure it matters where you get them, but IMHO, the (new?) rectangular style is very becoming on most shaped faces.

No advice on the prettiness, but call around to the different optical shops. Call the one at your local hospital, especially. I have used the various free-standing optical shops. They all offer a warranty. Usually, the warranty is for one year, if they break completely, you can get them replaced for around $20-$25. You can only replace them once with most warranties.

I finally asked my kids' opthamologist and he told me about the optical shop at one of the hospitals. Their warranty is for 2 years, replacement is $25 for frames, and $15 a lens, if new lenses are needed. I have one dc who is on his 3rd pair of frames under this warranty. (Can anyone say Flexon next time?) It's only cost us $50.

Also, when my girls needed a new Rx, but the frames were still good, we just ordered new lenses. Then 2 weeks later when one dd broke her frames (during a fight with other dd), they replaced the lenses and frames for the $25 because her frame had been discontinued.

I do think we pay a little more up front, but if you have bad luck with glasses, the warranty matters.

God Bless,
Anita

Sorry - no help at all! Where to get them is dependent on the area as you just have to check and I have no skills in terms of visual appeal and no idea about styles - ask my girls. I look for durability and price.

Now if anyone needs recommendations for bullet proof glasses for boys - that I can help with .

well you can get glasses at several online places.. including the one I linked to above.. for less than $25 and your prescription is usually good for two years so if they break you can just buy a new pair.
