Ok, I'm fashion-challenged. My son's wedding is Saturday. I have a gorgeous outfit: bronze satin blouse with the lapels sprinkled with tiny black stars, black pencil skirt, cute earrings and necklace, gorgeous strappy sandals and really cute lower heeled shoes to change into for comfort and fun after the photos (!!!). I got a great haircut and color and even splurged at the Lancome counter for new makeup. My question is: do I wear nude pantyhose or black/offblack with the heeled sandals and the peep-toed comfortable shoes? I really don't know. I'm pathetic to fret about this.
Back to ironing kids' clothes for the wedding while I await replies. There is no homeschooling going on today or tomorrow here: wedding holiday has been declared!

With open-toed, stappy shoes, I would definately wear the nude hose without the reinforced toe. Have fun!

Nude pantyhose with open toe, also if it's daytime. The black sheer seems to be on its way out.

Fashion wise hose in general are pretty much out and with strappy sandals I wouldn't wear any, but if you aren't comfortable with that go with the nude open or sheer toe.

well wouldn't knee highs or thigh highs look the same as pantyhose? barelegged when weather permits and a tights (opaque) look when too cold for bare legs?

Sure. But of course that depends on where you live. I'll go bare legged until it's pretty cold here but down south they might be able to do it all year.

From what I understand, panty hose are out, but opaque (esp textured) tights in winter are still fashionable.

Oh sorry --I make my own. A bias cut split skirt (or even loose pants) made from flannel backed satin.

OK, thanks everybody, and also thanks for the sweet comments! I know that hose are "out" but I'm just old enough that it doesn't feel right to have bare legs at a formal occasion, so I'm going with the nude hose.
The rehearsal and dinner last night were lovely. If I cried at the rehearsal, what ever will I do today? I think I should have my seat surrounded by tissue boxes! When Andrew walked me up the aisle last evening and we got to my seat he gave me the best hug and told me how much he loved me and let me tell you ladies who don't have children old enough to be married yet, this is a whole wonderful new level of love!!!!! My heart may burst today! I love how Jesse (yes, that's how she spells it) looks up at him with total trust and love. They were truly meant to be together.
Their reception plans fell through (the vineyard where they were going to have it let them know three months after they put down their deposit that they didn't have a venue license and that the county was giving them trouble about it. By then it was too late to find another place that was open for their date and jobs precluded changing that.) The reception will be in the five acre yard of the house Andrew's renting. Simply spectacular scenery! The tent is up and Japanese lanterns are strung throughout the trees. Aw, gee, I'm crying again! Better run and get going on final details. It took three hours to get there yesterday with traffic so we're leaving at noon for the 4:30 wedding.
Pray for them, ok? They're just so precious!
