Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Is this a totally impossible thing to find? [:^(]
I am looking for nursing nightgowns, at least to my calf, that is modest(truly), and doesn't cost more than $15-20 max. I am trying to make the switch to nightgowns that are long enough(all the ones I currently have are knee lenght or just above, and I wear them with lounge pants), but in budget. I actually only shop thrift shops, Ebay, Goodwill, as that is what is affordable. Anyone know how to alter a regular nightgown to a nursing nightgown without taking too much fabric(thus making it too tight on top) or making it look frumpy and unattractive. I try really hard to be modest and then also look fairly attractive/pretty for dh. Some of the modesty clothing sites out there look frumpy/quirky KWIM? I do not in any way go for trendy looks, and actualkly steer clear of them, but I do try to dress in a classy looking way AMAP. THanks to any who have tips or know where to find what I'm looking for.

hmmm you might consider a layered effect.. find a gown that's long enough.. maybe with only straps.. and make it nursing accessible.. then pair with a pj top to make the top modest and be able to easily nurse just by lifting the edge of the top.

That is exactly what I do. I have a hard time with the heat when I am nursing so I LOVE sleeveless but for the modesty factor I throw on a PJ top.

This is a timely topic for me as I have been searching for something along this line as well. I have the added "issue" of being a bit top heavy, especially when nursing.
Can I ask how you make a gown nursing accessible? (I'm not so great at sewing but if it's simple enough I could probably do it.) That would really provide more options. I saw one that has a deep v neck and thought that might work if I pull the stretchy fabric to the side for nursing, but I would have to do something to cover the area that shows as a result of the deep v neck!

I bought a couple of nursing gowns on sale that were around knee length and had little puffed sleeves. I have a light weight, calf length robe I wear over them if I'm going to be cooking breakfast or up for a while so I feel more covered. A robe is easy to make accessible for nursing.

My winter gown is just a flannel gown with buttons down the front that I can open to nurse. You might find a button front gown that is inexpensive and modest at TJ Maxx or on sale at a department store.

I've been wanting to add an item like this to my business website.

Pilgrim (and anyone on this board interested) - if you PM me your measurements, I'll make you one for $15 and see if you like it. We can do the front however you like - buttons down the front, or flaps to open on the sides. Sleeves or sleeveless in your choosing.

I would only ask for honest feedback so I can assure they are just what nursing moms like :)
